Even though Amelia is planning on tracking down Ryan Gosling now that he and Rachel McAdams are off, she never mentions getting married to him. A survey of 5,500 people in seven countries might explain why she wants him for now, not forever. Only three percent of those surveyed thought actors made good partners. Doctors and other health professionals, on the other hand, are considered marrying material, with 16 percent citing them as their preferred marriage partners. What profession does the guy of your dreams work in? [Reuters]

Like me, the Mister is an electrical engineer. We’re both musicians on the weekends. Guess I’m not too adventurous, eh?

Um, who cares? As long as their profession doesn’t ruin the relationship, why does it matter? Obviously, if distance is a dealbreaker and they travel often for work, that would be an issue. Or if one of your professions involved one of you doing something the other was hotly opposed to ... but why would it matter? I do nonprofit prevention work and my bf is a software consultant. We learn from each other and our differing perspectives on the world, and I have free tech support

Um why isnt construction worker on this list?? What can I say I am a sucker for dudes who will hit on anything with 2 legs. Actually no. I have no clue what to answer for this question. My ex who is the one has a degree in environmental studies but totally is a car lot bitch right now. Classy I know right. He always wants to do it with me in a tinted van.

I think you’re missing Military/Law Enforcement/Public Safety from that list. While “legal” is an option, a lawyer is quite different from a firefighter or soldier.

OMG, nerdy, intelligent guys get me every time. If they are a little bit awkward but still have a good sense of humor, I’m done for. Don’t compliment my shoes, shoot me line about biochemical signaling pathways. *shiver*

MY dream partner-in-crime would be someone who truly follows HIS dreams, especially if he runs his own show with his own business. His no guts, no glory outlook would complement and inspire me (there is only one of me allowed per relationship).
