Last night on “Californication” (spoiler alert!), Hank Moody went out with his best friend’s ex. And she was not just any ol’ ex—according to his BFF Lew, she’s the girl that got away. But on that very same night, Lew snuck out on a date with Hank’s ex-wife. Scandalous! Well, (cough), you know, it happens. Back in high school I dated two best friends, one right after the other. What can I say, they were both damn sexy study hall tutors! And honestly, who wouldn’t say yes to getting felt up in the library?! But in the end, the boys dumped me to save their friendship. I’m kind of convinced that faux pas is still messing with my relationship karma. So, I have to admit, I was kind of relieved to see even these “Californication” man whores swap ladies like it ain’t no thang. It made me wonder how common that sort of situation is…. So, ladies, I ask you this question—have you ever dated a pair of friends?

I never dated friends…but did something else with them at two different times and that was awkward enough—and they weren’t even good friends…but to think about going into the dating realm would of made my head explode. too much tangled psychology for words…in my opinion, most guy friends aren’t that cool to just be cool with it and if they are, it’s usually very caveman—as in passing around the girl like a bong and everyone gets a toke.

I was totally in love with this dude in college and we had a fairly epic (well, in my mind) friends with benefits relationship. But I ALSO had a pretty innocent little crush on one of his best friends, with whom I used to snuggle, but never hook up with. I probably could have—the chemistry was there—but I never took it to that level. Kind of regret that now!

oh god, I’m actually right now dating two guys at the same time who have been friends for, like, 7 years. And it’s actually been the least drama-filled experience of my dating life thus far, because before anything happened, everybody talked—I talked to both of them, they talked to teach other, etc. Everybody consented and if they hadn’t, I wouldn’t have done it. I mean, it’s still in the early stages, and I don’t know what’s happening next, but right now it seems to be working out pretty well. *crosses fingers*
