So seriously, if she is, it’s not funny. But Little J was out past her bedtime as usual last night and displayed some suspicious markings on her inner wrist. Now, as a clumsy gal myself, these could be the result of a fall or an angry cat. But girlfriend is going for a rock ‘n’ roll image and nothing says “punk rock” like “I cut myself to feel.” [NYC, 9/9/09]

Looks more like scrapes from falling or something than cuts to me.
@beinsf - actually, I’ve known people who cut themselves purely for the attention. They were not the norm for it, but it *does* happen.

It kind of looks like marks from a bracelet, and a little scratch, not really like cutting marks…

The few actual “cut” marks look more like cat scratches to me. The other marks look kind of like a rash. *shrugs*

As a former cutter (oh, troubled youth), I’d say probably not. They look more like scrapes or burns of some kind.

I have seen marks from several cutters and these marks don’t look the same. Perhaps we shouldn’t be jumping to conclusions.

They don’t look like marks of a cutter, but people will use other things/ways to hurt themselves, not just cutting.
@joyy: I want to slap those people who cut just for attention (and not as a cry for help.) They’re doing it on purpose, and I have to hide mine in spots no one will see.

These look like nail marks to me, definitely. I say that because I sometimes dig my nails into the same wrist area when I get anxious, or even nauseous. Looks bad, but it works.

I’m a cutter, it’s like heroin, once an addict, always an addict and my assumption; She’s to afraid to cut with a knife, so she scraped at her skin with something. I used to use bamboo skewers. Sadly, if she is cutting, it’s got to be for attention if she’s not trying to hide it in any way, which is why I’m doubting she’s a cutter.

To me it looks like she fell down. I’ve never seen anyone that cuts like that.
