Nia Long Disses Beyonce’s Acting
Some people applaud the triple threat, the complete entertainer who dances, sings, and acts (to some extent). But Nia Long makes a great argument to the contrary, and she goes after Beyonce in the process. Nia told Pride magazine that singers should sing and rappers should rap, and casting should reflect talent, not box office-draw. “I didn’t see ‘Obsessed,’ so I can’t comment, but it’s just not about how talented you are anymore. It’s about, ‘How much box-office revenue will this person generate,’” the actress said. “When you see certain people—we won’t name names—they just don’t have the skill, and no one in their team has said, ‘You need acting classes.’” Nia does, however, commend Jamie Foxx for being able to sing and hone his acting craft. I kind of agree with this. Real triple-threats are amazing and inspiring. People who are billed as triple threats but really aren’t disappoint and the roles are taken away from people who may not have the box-office draw but are certainly better in that area.
Just because Beyonce has acted in movies does not mean that she can act. And until she gets better (even if she does, I doubt she’s going to have that great acting career that she wants), she should stick to the things that she is good at. Like singing and dancing. Isn’t it enough for her that she’s an amazing dancer?

I also agree with what Nia said. I applaud anyone that tries new things, but I really think that Beyonce is a much better singer/dancer then actress.

I hope Mariah got the hint too. While Beyonce takes some acting lessons, she might also want to take some public speaking classes. I can never understand what she is saying. OR, she can just have Sasha Fierce do all the speaking for her, lol.

Nia never called Beyonce out. She specifically said she wouldnt mention names and she also said she hadnt seen Beyonce’s movie so lets get this right ok? I’d hate to see a senseless, media-fueled feud between two people who don’t even know each other.
