Nadya Suleman Wants To Be Paid For Interviews About Octuplets

As you’ve probably already read, Nadya Suleman, the 33-year-old woman who gave birth to octuplets last week, already has six kids also conceived via in-vitro fertilization, bringing grand total of mouths-to-feed to 14. This revelation has caused a ton of controversy, as Suleman has been described by her own mother as “obsessed with having children since she was a teenager.” Suleman, apparently, has no interest in getting marriage and the paternity of all the children is unknown, though some believe she used a sperm donation from a friend. Suleman was unable to conceive naturally and her last relationship was before the birth of her first child. Additionally, there is speculation that Suleman lied to her doctor in order to be allowed to have her last four frozen embryos be planted. The four became eight due to her hyperstimulated reproductive system, but when doctors discovered that she was carrying seven babies (the eight was a delivery room surprise!), they asked if she would abort any of the fetuses. She refused. According to doctors, “in choosing to carry all eight to term, Ms. Suleman ignored guidelines, risking both their health and her own.” Needless to say, but this bitch is CRAZY.

Now comes word that Suleman wants a hefty paycheck for her story—she’s apparently asking for $2 million from suitors for sit-down media interviews and is actually seeking sponsors to help her support, clothe, and feed her 14 children. Additionally, Suleman isn’t satisfied just appearing on someone else’s TV show—she wants her own, in which she’ll appear as a childcare expert. For the record, Suleman and her kids live in a two bedroom house with her parents, who assist in helping her care for her children and are facing serious financial trouble themselves. While I certainly don’t think that the right to have children should be determined by how much money you make, shouldn’t someone step in when a person is clearly making dangerous and irrational parenting decisions BEFORE the children are actually born?

Look, considering, uh, the bitch is crazy, I doubt that her kids’ well-being was foremost on her mind. And given the positive media coverage, not to mention financial perks, families like the Duggars have received, it’s no wonder Suleman thinks “the more the merrier!” [Times Online U.K.]

Seriously, did anyone doubt she wanted some financial kick back of some kind?

Anyone know where/how she got the money for IVF in the first place? I thought it was like $10,00 each time…

She says in some of the articles that she got paid to do IVF, but did not elaborate further.  So one rumour going around is that she went to another country to participate in an experimental procedure.

I would never thought I’d live to see nor hear all the crazy stunts people pull just for Fame or Money, Last year, it was Sara Palin showing her stupidity in the election race and NOW this woman wants her own show ? smile

Why’d she do it?  Because of those silly shows like the one about the Duggars and Jon & Kate + 8… corporate sponsorship is the new welfare for mega-families… go big or go home.

Well, that and she’s batshit crazy.

@WinkyFace—That’s right…TEN TO FIFTEEN THOUSAND A POP depending on the doctor….and that is IF the office visits, blood tests, ultrasounds, and whatever else she has to have done is covered by insurance.  If they aren’t, then you are looking at over TWENTY THOUSAND a pop.

What I want to know is how did she lie to her doctors?  I’ve BEEN through IVF. If there is something wrong with you, they ARE going to find it.  If there isn’t, there isn’t.  NOTHING is sacred when you are going through this procedure.  You are poked, prodded, bled, and turned inside out to determine how healthy or unhealthy you are and what your problems for not conceiving are.  She didn’t LIE to the doctor.

ANd I doubt the doctor’s claim too.  Four eggs all split?  So she has FOUR SETS OF IDENTICAL TWINS?  I find that hard to believe.  Yes, I have heard because of hyperstimulated hormones eggs will split where they wouldn’t normally.  But ALL FOUR EGGS?  What are the odds of that happening? She should play the lottery to support the kids then because she is one lucky lady.

The fact is, the doctor was trying to make a name for HIM/HERSELF because if you can bring eight healthy babies into the world, you set a record, you look good and OTHER infertile couples will come dropping their twenty thousand dollars plus cash on your doorstep to give them a baby.  Only the doctor isn’t going to admit that because s/he KNOWS it was medically unethical to implant more than two—maybe three—eggs into this woman.

BOTH the woman and the doctor used these children for financial gain.

This is disgusting, for sooo many reasons. In today’s world, where overpopulation is a major concern, not to mention the thousands of children who are out there waiting for adoption, this crazy woman has 8 in one shot (plus her other 6) and wants to get PAID for it?? The only thing she should get is sterilized!

I agree with crazychica.  Why couldn’t she be like Brangelina and adopt children?  Oh, because she would be found out that she’s a few sandwiches short of a picnic…?

Writergirl is dead on. That doc knew exactly what he was doing. L.A. is a really competitive health care market. The hospital knew what they were doing too. Sad, but it’s all about the money. That, and one completely crazy female.

First of all, I believe it is unfair for people to have that many children, unless they’re gazillionaires, because of the limited financial opportunities their children will have (college, etc.). Also, I can’t stand the Duggar family on TLC. The Duggars in particular seem to be teaching the wrong values to their children, specifically their daughters. There was an episode where they were talking about what each of the children wanted to do when they grew up, and most of the daughters said something along the lines of “housewife” or “mother.” Great, 8 more women in the world who will grow up to do nothing but pop out more babies.

Also, I agree with Crazychica. In a book called “My Year of Meats,” a couple has two biological children, and then adopted eight more children from various places in Asia. They stated their belief that “every couple should have two children, one for each parent.” After that, you can adopt children if you want more.
