Miley Cyrus Dons Hooker Boots For Elle
A few months after appearing on the cover of her first “woman’s” magazine, Glamour, and a year after her controversial photo shoot for Vanity Fair, country singer and pop star, Miley Cyrus, has gone high-fashion for Elle. It seems clear that Miley is trying to prove she’s all grown up, as she’s showing a bit of cleavage on the cover, and rockin’ thigh high leather boots on the inside, where she’s stretched across a table with a hand in her hair. See that pic, after the jump…

Now, is it just me, or is this shoot the same level of sexiness that detractors complained about in VF? And if folks complain, will Miley and her crew take “responsibility” for this shoot or will photographer, Carter Smith, be scapegoated? Personally, I think she looks lovely, even if the boots are a tad inappropriate for a 16-year-old. [MTV]

Yikes. Too over-sexualized for a teenager. Talking about why “she’s not a kid anymore?” Honey, you’re 16. You’re still an infant.

nah, she won’t complain about this shoot, the photographer isn’t famous enough for her to whine about it and people pay attention to it.

The grossest part is that you know her daddy was at the shoot approving it all.

@tattooed_redhead—that’s what I was going to say.
And people wonder why these kids have breakdowns when they are in the mid-twenties.

Wow. The oversexualization of the children in this country is now being led by thier idol. Perfect. I agree with infamous, shes still an infant and needs to stop pushing her training bra out at America. Bad enough that she’s constantly feeling herself up during shows. Of course Daddy sat an approved it all, his little cash cow has to keep raking in the dough somehow…

I have two daughters, and, when they get older, I know I’m going to resist their attempts to be seen as women and not as girls.
That said, I don’t find these to be overly sexual at all. Yes, she has some cleavage on the cover shot, but, hey, she’s 16 and she has breasts. No biggie. I don’t think they’re over-emphasized and I don’t see it as a pouty sex pic.
The FMB shot also seems asexual to me. I can’t say why, and it’s not just because she’s too young. It just looks… too staged to be sexual, or something like that.
I think it’s wrong to take young girls and try to make them overly sexual. I think it’s wrong to make them feel that appearance is all that matters. However, in these pics, and other things I see and hear (thanks to my oldest, I get plenty of Miley updates), I don’t think she’s being exploited or objectified. In her, I see a fairly normal attempt of a 16-year-old to show she’s growing up. And, as a father, while I might have had some pause with the boot shot, in the end, I don’t really see anything objectionable. She wants a career in movies and as a singer, and some promotion is necessary, and she clearly is the one who’s going after it. I don’t see her as being pushed into it.
So, no, I don’t see a big problem with it. I don’t think it’s over the line.

The problem is not necessarily that she as a 16 year old wants to be seen as an adult and that she is “grown up”. That is definitely a normal teenage thing. The problem is that the people that organize and fund these shoots are giving validity to all of those annoying, selfish teens that feel entitled to act like brats and skanks because they are “grown up”. It is up to the adults involved to reign it in and say, Hey I know you think you are all grown up now but guess what you are barely 16. No matter what you think, that is not a freaking adult.

Why is Miley Cyrus so weird?

She has a baby face, so it looks odd for her to be doing this kind of shoot.

This is great and all, but, why not Elle Girl instead of Elle? I don’t know that there’s anything wrong with it, but I still fail to understand why grown women should be interested in anything Miley Cyrus has to say.
