Miami Social, Will You Watch?

I have a confession to make. I’ve never been to South Beach. Gasp! I have been to Miami, if you count the airport. South Beach was on my list of places to visit until I watched a clip of Bravo’s “Miami Social,” which has turned me off from the tourist destination.

The “docu-series,” as Bravo calls it, follows a circle of “hot, young professionals” as they work by day and party by night. They have all the right connections to get into the best night spots and even their professional lives are intertwined. The cast members are friends or frenemies, depending on the relationship. Oh yeah, and they all seem pretty narcissistic. Well, they’d have to be, right, in order to audition for a reality show? Bravo seems to have a knack for finding the most egotistical cast members, who just don’t seem to have a clue about the rest of the world. The men seem as annoying Spencer Pratt but more catty. I can’t find one person on this show to root for, except maybe Maria, who advises her daughter rather bluntly not to kiss anyone with cold sores. [Good advice—Ed.] But that’s not a good enough reason to watch. What about you? Will you be glued to your TV screen when the first episode of “Miami Social” airs on July 14?
