Men: The Weaker Sex?
According to a new study, men are fast becoming the weaker sex. In recent years, some 100,000 chemicals have entered the atmosphere and are wreaking havoc upon masculinity. Apparently, “gender bender” chemicals are messing with hormones, resulting in a “feminisation of the males.” In male animals, symptoms include testicular dysfunction, smaller penises, and reproductive challenges, and some species are experiencing an uptick in hermaphrodites, among them polar bears born with male and female genitalia. These evolutionary “red flags” don’t bode well for humans: “If we are seeing problems in wildlife, we can be concerned that something similar is happening to a proportion of human males.” Some polluted countries are experiencing a surge in female births over male births, male children of women exposed to certain chemicals are exhibiting feminization, and in Rotterdam “boys whose mothers had been exposed to PCBs grew up wanting to play with dolls and tea sets rather than with traditionally male toys.” With sperm counts dropping “precipitously” around the world, women may transform from the fairer sex to the stronger one. All very interesting but I wonder how many lifetimes it will take for any real change to take place in males lol. In the mean time I will keep drinking the BOTTLED water =)

Yes! Further steps towards a world where men are no longer necessary! With enough stored sperm and genetic manipulation…paradise, here we come!

I think you are indeed misinformed. Without a man you wouldn’t be here. If indeed mens masculine attributes are being lessened by our environment etc. there is or will be an effect on gamete production somewhere on down the line. In that case all the stored sperm in the universe wont matter. Genetic manipulation cannot produce broad spectrum vaibility for the species. Realistically you/we are stuck with good old natural Darwinian selection. It has worked since time immemorial and will sufice for a few more eons; although it does leave some of us on dead end branches of the tree of life!

Hell no! I sure wouldn’t want to live in a world without men. They’ve got their flaws, but so do women, and we both balance eachother out.

I agree with you, the seces both need each other. Men have flaws and so do women, both are unfairly stereotyped in a variety of different ways. Just the simple fact of being able to reproduce doesnt render one or the other useless, as much as some would like us to think. The personality traits and physicality that come along with each sex are all part of the equation in my opinion. I guess we are to believe if we as men werent here there would be no wars, everyone would love one another and I suppose the entire population would eat rainbows served to them by unicorns lol =)

Oh I know that you were, I was just referring to others who have expressed that same thought but with all seriousness. Didnt mean to make it seem like I was referring to you if you thought I was =)

Hey, I know it’s an old post but…
I actually did a research project a few years ago on soy and it’s (possible) pros and cons for a nutrition class. From what I read, these changes are already taking place, in part because of things like remnants of the Pill in the water supply, but also because of soy products. Soy has specific phytochemicals in it called phytoestrogens, which act like regular estrogen in the human body. This is especially apparent in babies that are given soy based formulas—tests have shown that they end up with 20,000 times the estrogen in their bodies that a baby on regular formula would have. And as it is, girls are maturing earlier and boys are maturing later and later. It’s kind of scary.

There were a couple posts on pornography recently, and I would like to point out that “Gender Bender” is a transsexual pornography title.
Yes it may be strange that I know this, but porn is a hobby of mine and I have an excellent memory.

I don’t know all the details of this, but there are chemicals in plastics that act as estrogen and other female hormones in the body. The chemicals aren’t those hormones, but they fool your body into thinking they are. It’s reeked all kinds of havoc on the girls that are now very young. They are starting their periods early in elementary school and developing large breasts before they should.
Okay, not the same thing this article is about, but it’s related. Just pointing out that these chemicals are causing problems for everyone.
EastCoastMale, you might not be as safe with your plastic bottled water as you think you are.
