I scratched my head the first time I saw this Quizno’s commercial for the Toasty Torpedo sandwich. I wasn’t confused by the homoerotica. Hey, sex can sell anything! What was perplexing was that it seemed as though the Quizno’s employee had had sex with the talking oven. As it turns out, I was a little behind the times. People having sex with objects (and I’m not talking sex toys) is nothing new.
Last year, we told you about Edward Smith, a 57-year-old man who has had sex with more than 999 cars. Yes, cars! He “dated” a Volkswagen Beetle named “Vanilla” in 2008. But he says his most intense sexual experience ever was with a helicopter. Then there’s Chris Donaldson, a mechanic who also enjoys sex with automobiles. “Some men like boobs and bums, but I much prefer curvy bodywork,” said Donaldson, 38, who has a recognized psychological disorder that makes him attracted to motors. Like Smith, Donaldson has had sex with other kinds of vehicles, including two motorboats and a friend’s jet ski.

@Ninaka: I sooooo remember those commercials with the creepy rodents! I’m not sure what they were, but they made me stay far far away from Quiznos.

The scrubby pads clip sounds more like a trucker dude’s response to a much needed back scratch—not sexual or sexy at all. Haven’t seen the Quizno’s one yet, but Carl’s Jr had the messy-sex thing going for awhile.

The part I find the creepiest is that the stove is COACHING Scott on what to do and how to say it “sexier”. Wonder how many other Quiznos employees he has violated? He seems to be a pro.
