Mark Sanford’s An Even Worse Husband Than We Originally Thought

Mark Sanford

When is this Mark Sanford guy gonna get a clue? First the governor of South Carolina gets caught having an affair and now he’s opening up about how he’s had questionable encounters with several women while married. “There were a handful of instances wherein I crossed the lines I shouldn’t have crossed as a married man, but never crossed the ultimate line,” Sanford said in a press conference with the Associated Press. Um, what exactly does that mean? Email flirting? Semi-regular BJs? Why voluntarily spout this information to the media?! Your unlucky kids are going to have to read about what a pig you are.

Plus, Sanford’s wife, Jenny, is on the worst roller coaster of her life. Although the couple hasn’t been living in the same house for weeks, the South Carolina statesman also told the AP that he’s trying to reconcile with her and “fall back in love” with her. Yet in the next breath, Sanford said he’ll be able to die “knowing I had met my soul mate”––in reference to Maria Belen Chapur, the woman he had an affair with. Unlike most politicians’ wives, Jenny better continue to not stand by Sanford’s side, and be a good role model for disrespected mothers and wives alike. [MSNBC]

I’m guessing Sanford is feeling the need to get everything off his chest now that his big secret is out. A sort of cleanse, if you will. But that should be with a family friend or a therapist…NOT the entire county. It’s no wonder other countries think of Americans as a bunch of over-sharers.

What a jerk, he’s basically insinuating that “oh well, I have to reconcile with my wife, and force myself to love her, but atleast I met the woman I truly love; my mistress” to his wife, I say: DTB! DTB! dump that bitch.

I really can’t stand this guy!  Can we please stop paying attention to a word this disgusting, horrible, womanizing man says!?
His wife is the smartest woman alive for moving out!

My favorite part of the article is “...the South Carolina statesman also told the AP that he’s trying to reconcile with her and ‘fall back in love’ with her. Yet in the next breath, Sanford said he’ll be able to die ‘knowing I had met my soul mate’”.

Now, I don’t condone violence by any means but I’m willing to look the other way for his wife, Jenny.

How about everyone stipulates that many if not most men (and some women) in gov’t life, esp higher office, behave this way in varying degrees, only they haven’t been caught yet—the faithful being the exceptions? The temptations are strong, the egos are huge (the rock star syndrome coined for Clinton [yeah, I know Sanford was no rock star or Clinton]), ‘cause they are doing Public Service along the lines of God’s work for the greater good of the world, right? So, they’re not subject to the same rules and we’re just to dumb to understand that.

What a cold slap to Mrs. S (so, she was unlovable?), and he, political to the end, as if to say his meeting his soulmate is, in fact, an *admirable* reason for infidelity? Who could deny anyone their “soulmate?” How unfeeling of us. Snark, snark, snark.

That’s the line that gets me: “he is trying to fall back in love with his wife”. Seriously? You’re TRYING to fall back in love with your WIFE. Eff you man. He should fall in love with the exhaust pipe of his car. How utterly useless.
