    phew.  glad I didn’t watch it or follow up on what happened.

    So here’s my 2 cents:  I enjoyed seasons 1 - 3, but was thoroughly un-impression with season 4; the challenges were dull and the work produced lackluster.  I only watched the 1st episode of season 5, and wasn’t inclined to even keep watching.  Not sure what spurred the quality decline a couple of years ago.  I miss the first few seasons!  But I have them on dvd smile

    @Amelia

    I know, seriously. But at least they got Rebecca Romgjin and not, like, one of the Duggars or something.

    Also, heart Melvin and his crazy chicken thigh dress.

    No way. I can’t stand Malvin. He’s trying WAY too hard.

    Malvin is like a strange combination of Chris Marsh and a small amount of Christian Siriano, but awkwardly quiet and strange.

    This show is OFFICIALLY on Lifetime. Two conceptual designers gone in the first two weeks. Yikes. Not that I loved either design, but Mitchell’s shorts were a crime. I’d sooner wear a paper sack. I think PR may be…over?

    I think lifetime is making the show too conservative, kicking off the 2 visionaries in the first 2 episodes and saving a guy who can’t sew two times in the exchange???

    @emerica789 Completely agree. Does the winner get to design a line for Walmart or something? Nothing against accessible fashion, but this show is about fashion design and creativity. Mitchell’s shorts were an offense to both. Whether you like it or not, Melvin actually had a vision. Mitchell made a diaper.

    it’s like they all designed for models…with bizarre beachballs stuck to their stomachs. um, not everyone is going to be 5’9’’ with legs that go on for miles when they get pregnant.

    Mitchell sucks—two weeks in a row. And he makes my school looks bad. :( But he didn’t major in fashion design entirely.

    A friend of mine pointed out that Ari-the-Sam-Ronson-doppelganger was doomed the minute Lindsay Lohan walked out, but there’s NO excuse to have kept Mitchell two weeks in a row. If I were a judge I’d be more interested in giving a creative designer a chance to settle in and tone it down than endlessly waiting for a boring designer to learn how to sew. I’m on board with Shirin as the winner this week, but am totally disgusted that Mitchell is still around - although I do think the model that’s in love with Logan went a bit far trashing him on the runway like that, that was just unprofessional.

    Definitely should have kept Melvin!  He’s creative, he’s interesting, and his construction was good.  So his concept needed to be more in tune with what a woman would wear, how she wants to feel - but I have a feeling he might be able to reach that.  Mitchell, although he seems like a decent guy, was not inspiring, interesting, or good at sewing.

    I loved so many of the dresses that went out there, but there was little beyond that to discuss.  This could be a really dull season…“Project Good Seamstresses of America”?

    I have to point out, as I did last week, that this season was filmed before anything was settled between the two networks. From what I have heard in the news and from a classmate who was an intern at WWD during fashion week in New York in February (and saw the final contestants’ lines), neither Bravo nor Lifetime had much of any say in elimination decisions this time around. The producers and judges who have been working on this show the whole time, on both networks, have been in control, not Lifetime.
