Lady Gaga (With A Thumbs Up From Madonna) Kills It On “SNL”

If Lady Gaga didn’t end up winning over some of her haters last night, after performing on “Saturday Night Live,” then they’re a lost cause. The pop diva absolutely knocked it out of the park, performing both “Paparazzi” and a medley of her songs, including “Poker Face” (in a gyroscope-enabled dress, natch)—showing off not only her ability to put on an entertaining show, but also her singing talent. Madonna showed up to join Gaga in one of my personal favorite regular skits, “Deep House Dish,” which came off a little awkward, but still was a nice little endorsement from the Queen of Pop. Clip of that, after the jump.

I think that this is her most outlandish act yet: reminding us that she has talent.

The first part was really quite strange. She looked a little lost trying to manipulate that strange apparatus of an outfit. I but do really dig her soloing on the piano. It seems to be her element. She kinda has this Christina Aguilera meets Regina Spektor thing goin’ on.

I actually found her quite boring, even with the absurd costume.

I would much rather her behind a piano, encased in a gyroscope than dripping with mystery goo, hanging from the ceiling.

She’s alright and all. Peaches does a lot more with a lot less. Definitely more of a Peaches fan.

it’s nice to hear someone who can actually sing live instead of lipsynching

I totally thought they had cast members dressed up as Madonna and Gaga cuz I didn’t think they would actually act that ridiculous (it wasn’t even funny)...and I kept thinking, wow, the makeup guys are really good! Hahah

I think she could’ve done without the first part. The gyroscroping outfit looked awkward while she was singing. Otherwise, her set was pretty good. It’s nice to actually see her more subdued, showing she does have talent beyond the crazy getups.

i actually thought the metal solar system in the fist part of her act was awesome. i’ve slowly grown to like gaga more and more, although i think she’s a little too over the top. it was just interesting to see how fluid she maneuvered around that thing!

Speaking of the gyroscope, I’m surprised no one (including Frisky) has touched on how the gyroscope wasn’t designed properly and wasn’t working. the inner cirlce was too small and kept hitting her in the head, preventing it from rotating. She did a good job trying to work with it and keep it going, a true performer. But I was so distracted and entertained by watching her try to manuever that thing I forgot about the performance.
