Kelly Osbourne Talks Drug Addiction On “Ellen”

I have a new favorite genre of daytime television—stars going on talk shows, getting down and dirty about the details of their drug addictions. But today’s contribution to the cannon, Kelly Osbourne on “Ellen” talking about her addiction years, is precious too: “I was so ashamed of myself, I didn’t want to tell my parents,” she said. “My mom was in a relationship with my father for years trying to get him sober and I didn’t want to tell her that now her daughter, too ... I was a full-blown addict by the time we started ‘The Osbournes.’ It was a time when I was suddenly famous, my mom had breast cancer, and my dad almost died in a bike accident. It was a lot for me to handle, and I didn’t handle it very well.”
