On this day in 1984, Democratic presidential candidate Walter Mondale announced that Geraldine Ferraro would be his running-mate. Geraldine was the first female vice presidential candidate in U.S. history. Isn’t it sad that more than 20 years later, we still haven’t had a woman in that job? [History.com]
