Face-Off: Jay-Z Trounces Elvis’ Record For #1 Albums
Now that Jay-Z‘s new album, The Blueprint 3, has reached #1 on the Billboard chart, a whole huge deal is being made about how Jay has surpassed Elvis’ long held record for the most #1 albums. Guess that was definitely worth coming out of retirement for. But, uh, how does Jay-Z stack up to Elvis in other regards?

Have to go with Jay-Z. I never understood the fascination with Elvis, he got famous stealing other musicians music and moves and wore bedazzled jumpsuits…not really that great to me. Jay on the other hand, pulled his self up from the streets and has managed to pretty much stay out of a lot of conflict and I just think he is awesome! He writes his own songs, he has tons of successful business ventures and he is involved in a lot of great charitable causes. Hands down, no competition!

Elvis, always. However, Priscilla’s affair was probably partially instigated by the fact that Elvis wouldn’t sleep with her after she had Lisa Marie. In fact, he wouldn’t sleep with anyone after they’d had a child.
He apparently had some sort of Madonna/Whore complex.
Neat-o, huh?

Nope, no comparison. Elvis by a landslide. If Elvis had lived out his full life, Jay-Z would still have a longggg way to go.

Forgot to compare them on film performances or active military service.
Hopefully he isn’t as troubled as Elvis was though.

Jay-Z also nicknamed himself J-Hova. Gods trump kings.
Elvis was a thief who couldn’t dance. Get over him people.

Jay-Z, while a talented rapper and businessman, is no Elvis. Elvis is and will always be the King. End of story.

Elvis duh. Better music, sexier, and has movies perfect for rainy days. You can’t even understand half the bs Jay-Z says.

Elvis has sold alot when hes been dead… Jay-Z songs.. nobody is going to care about your 2009 escalade in 20 years. Jail house rock however will still be played. People wont be buying Jay Z records in the future. Also, I thought about how… nowadays people just click on a button to buy a song. Back in the day, Elvis fans actually had to persue the music. It wasnt being shoved down their throats as it is now.
Not to mention the movies… sure Elvis stole songs… Jay-Z samples… and as far as I know… cant play ANY instruments. Elvis hands down… and Im not saying that as a fan, just stating facts.
