Is There A John Edwards Sex Tape?

Despite the fact that, like, dozens of politicians have been busted cheating on their wives since, John Edwards is still in the news for his affair with Rielle Hunter. According to the book proposal from former Edwards aide Andrew Young, a sex tape featuring Edwards humping Hunter exists. Young would know—he’s the man who famously took the fall for Edwards when he asserted that Hunter’s child was his not the Senator’s. But in the book proposal he admits that was a lie and that the child is Edwards’. He also says that Hunter told him that she and the Senator discussed getting married once Elizabeth Edwards passed away from cancer and that he actually found and has seen the sex tape the two made. Um, can I?
According to the proposal, Elizabeth Edwards partially blames Young for her husband’s affair, since he aided him in keeping a secret, and she also has accused him of stealing her son Wade’s baseball card collection. Random. If this is true, it’s further evidence that Elizabeth Edwards is in deep denial about her husband’s lack of loyalty. I feel for the woman, and as much I understand her desire to keep her family together in the time she has left, she deserves better than this.
On a more selfish note, is it wrong that I really, kinda, wanna see ol’ Edwards in action? He’s sleazy, but sexy. [New York Daily News]

My heart goes out to Elizabeth. I think she is sticking by her man because the LAST thing she needs to deal with is a divorce proceeding. A dear friend of mine was diagnosed with breast cancer (she’s only 25) and during that time, her husband knocked up another chick, left my friend for his mistress, and is now fighting for custody of their son. All of that is making her treatment so much more difficult than it should be. So I can (sort of) understand why Elizabeth is trying to stick in there. But on a side note, what’s up with douchebag husbands?? And no offense Amelia, but John Edwards actions alone made his sexiness all but completely dissipate (IMO). Not only that, but I could never find a video of a man cheating on his wife a turn on.

I really REALLY want to be deep, political and empathetic about this, but….all I can think of is the chance to see him naked.

I feel really sad for his children. I wouldn’t want to be seen in public with him. What a total disappointment he is. But being he is a self proclaimed ego maniac - he didn’t think the truth would come out. One lesson to be learned from this media mess is to come clean right up front but he’s obviously in too deep. I bet he’s committed election fraud too with the payments made by Fred Baron to Hunter and Young. Johnny’s going to be spending time in a Federal prison.

I won’t deny Elizabeth her Denial – it is a powerful drug – probably helps to ease the rest of her pain.
Y’know, I often wondered why Edwards never pushed thru in all his bids for Prez, being such the Golden Boy, and all. I’ll bet a lot more skeletons will come tumbling out of Young’s book when it hits. Not interested in the vid, tho. Ughhhh.
@GreenAura: Agree totally with your Edwards/video comment. And, your friend’s story is horrifying. That is probably the worst cancer story I’ve heard about love and support from a spouse at the worst time in a person’s life. Whatever happened to “in sickness and in health?” even in a failing marriage… at least help her thru treatment… inhumane.

@GreenAura: Agree totally with your Edwards/vid comment. And your friend with cancer… that is probably the worst story I’ve ever heard about abandonment of a spouse during the worst time of their life (in sickness and in health?). Even if the failing marriage, at least help her thru treatment… inhumane. (then she can repay him in kind)

@_jsw_: thanks. Hope it’s just a temporary glitch from the site’s maintenance, then, and it will be fixed. ‘Cause people read from top-to-bottom for forward time sequencing. It’s counter-intuitive to go this other way. Agreed, the box thing *is* confusing. I think they’ll fix it.
