Is Sex A Tall Order When There’s A Huge Height Difference?

FOXSexpert columnist Yvonne Fulbright offers the world’s tallest man, Sultan Kosen, some sex advice in her latest article. She says, “Height is hardly ever a problem in or out of the sack (unless you’re on the dance floor),” going on to offer Kosen suggestions, including these gems:
- Try to look less threatening.
- Get a dog.
- Go anywhere tall women go.
- Use a LoveRocker (a device we weren’t able to find with quick Google search).
I don’t know about you, but I’ve wondered how giant NBA players do it with their teeny-tiny girlfriends, groupies, and wives. If there’s a two-feet difference in your heights, doesn’t sex get complicated? And since Fulbright’s “advice” doesn’t really offer much, do you have any suggestions for couples with huge height differences? [FOX News]

The dance floor thing is completely true. When I was in high school, a “friend” set me up on a blind date with a guy who was 6’8” (I’m 5’3”), and every time he moved his hips I prayed that I wouldn’t end up with a broken rib. Very unpleasant. I have no clue about the sex, though.

YES! don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, height MATTERS! I’m a foot shorter than my BF and some positions are completely impossible (sex standing up, 69, etc.) because of the height diff.

I once dated a very tall guy. The trick was to improvise a variety of “sex furniture” as pinkjellyfish said. You don’t have to buy a specialty item from a sex store. Pillows, chairs, ottomans are my favorite. Bending over the right sized couch or propped up on the right height table works. I’ve even used a yoga ball. Or, I’d just leave the heels on for sexy times.

@bumbler: I dated a tall girl once. Utterly Amazonian. I never had such a fun time getting thrown around in bed!
We have tall men in our family. Sadly, I never got that gene, and stand at an average 5’9”. Our dad and stepmom were at such a height difference that grandma gave them a kitchen footstool just for kissing.

I’ve dated a couple guys who were a foot taller than me. My ex husband was 8” taller. There was no sex or ehh sex, so I don’t have any great tips.

This is so stupid to me. My husband is a foot taller than me and I assure you there are no problems. Sexual chemistry will override any height difference.

@hickster did she have a secret hangout with her Amazonian sisters?? You should ask her. I just can’t think of a location that would attract a large percentage of tall girls vs average or short women. I maintain suggestion #3 does not make sense.

The last guy I dated was 14 inches taller than me. Some things really just weren’t going to happen. In most cases, though, it’s not an issue.

My boyfriend is a foot and a half taller than me (he’s super tall, I’m super short). I was honestly overwhelmed the first few times we got together. But persistence (and a lot of foreplay!) paid off.

look for women’s rowing teams. Im 6’1 and I was surrounded by so many other tall women that I would actually forget how tall I was until we would tower over my 5’4 friend.

@lilmissa crazy crazy…is it a height difference similar to myself and the guy I’m dating who I have nick-named “Big-n-Tall”? He’s 6’8, I’m 5’3…well..5’2 3/4.
Already we’ve had to really communicate and say “uhhh…nope not working for me” and get really creative. I hear using the kitchen counter for leverage works really well, though.
Haven’t tried it though.
Anyone got specific positions?

I googled the love rocker, it was coupled with comments like, “I am going for a 4 guys 1 woman thing, and was wondering how comfortable this thing is”
It looks like a workout bench, so yeah… would not work with all your other bedroom furniture unless galvanized steel and taught black plether padding is your decor..
Also, as a guy who dated a tall chick, it was cool, most stuff worked out well. She was worried that I was going to be tiny, which was her only apprehension. We dated for a year and felt comfortable enough telling me that after our first go around, so ego boost for me!

My previous FWB was a foot taller than me (6’8”!), and we had incredible sex, no problems at all with height. I’ve actually had way more height problems with my current bf- who is the same height as me. Standing sex is pretty much a no go. :S

I am a shorter guy, and standing sex is never a problem. Wasnt a problem with my 5’1” girlfriend or my 6’2” girlfriend. To have standing sex, all you have to do is be able to hold the person up. Everybodys arms are all the same length relative to their body, so the problem with standing sex is never height, usually strength or finding furniture is the problem. I would say your current boyfriend just has furniture that is too tall.

It honestly took a few different times to get things just right. I have heard the same things about the kitchen counters, but also haven’t yet tried it out.

Well, DON’T tell my amazonian sisters, but you can find us at Fashion Week, volleyball games, basketball games, the beach, and anywhere else we can show off our long legs (I’m 6’2”). LA clubs are pretty good too.
The guy I’m seeing now is 5’6”

I’m 6’2” and have had lovers from 4’11” to 6’1” and it always worked pretty well! My wife is 4’11” and our sex life works quite well…Missionary, doggy, scissors, spoons and cowgirl all work well. I’m sure standing up might be tricky, but with plenty of positions that work, we’re plenty happy with our sex life.
