Is Matching Your Date A Do Or A Don’t?
Nicole Richie and Joel Madden looked a little prom-y at the Noble Humanitarian Awards. His tie and highlights make him look as if he were an afterthought when they were deciding what to wear. But what do you think? Is there ever an appropriate time to match to your date? [10/18/09, Beverly Hills]

I actually think they look cute. If he had gone with the whole polka dot suit that would have been to much, I think the tie is just subtle enough.

I agree Bethlynn00, they look adorable, minus the highlights, its too backstreet boyish.

They look fine. I just don’t like her dress too much.

I agree. That’s not too much matching. If his whole suit were a champaign color like her dress, it would probably be too much

Unless you and your date are attending a event at which the lady of the day is wearing a tiara (i.e. a wedding or homecoming dance) matchee-matching looks silly.

It can look silly sometimes but in this picture it looks nice. Can somebody tell me what they were doing at a humanitarian award ceremony?
