In 2008, Britney Spears’ daddy was given permanent control over the singer’s affairs. Brit agreed to the arrangement because she thought it would make it easier for her to get custody of her two sons. At the time, Spears was a total mess, so the judge said the conservatorship would end when she got her s**t together. Well now, that time has come…
Well, almost. When Britney is done touring in November, Jamie Spears is going to ask the courts to rethink this crazy little arrangement. Britney seems to have really turned it around. She’s no longer in and out of mental hospitals or getting married on a whim. That’s pretty good for her, right? [TMZ]

I think she clearly needed help, I think she got help, and I think she’s done an amazing job of turning her life around.
She clearly had issues with her mental health as well as with her maturity level. I’m very impressed that she’s managed to come out of it so well, at least for now. I wish her the best of luck.

I was watching the Bill Maher show, and he was saying how Michael Jackson represented America because we’re over-indulgent, obssesed with our appearance, in debt, and we’re only recognized for what we have done in the past, so we’re either on the path to over dosing, or “are we going to get our #&@$% together, like Britney Spears and put on our Circus costumes?!” it was the funniest freaking quote in the world. She cleaned up her act pretty darn well. Props to brit brit and her people.

Though I’m not a huge fan of the celebrity obsession in this country, I was happy to see Britney’s family step in and help her. MJ is the perfect example of what happens when showbiz and family have the joint goal of sucking out as much money as possible. At least it looks like Britney is healthy and doing alright. I wish the best for her and her cute kids.

She’s definitely doing better, and that is a big relief because she has a family to take care of. But if you kept up with what was going on her tour, she seemed a bit erratic and not at all into her performance. If she’s doing better with her family, that’s the most important thing. But she’s definitely been taking baby steps. Despite album or single sales, I don’t think she’s got her “career” quite on track. Then again, we may simply differ on what a good career is. I can’t see myself making granny proud by singing “If You Seek Amy”. What is she, a fifteen year old skank? Apparently not, but I also hope the best for her and her family and I hope she’ll keep maturing for their sake.

I don’t think she’ll have the success that she used to; her fiftenn minutes has faded. I did at one point compare her to MJ in the sense that both of them have had tremendous international success and somehow found it to be lonely at the top…MJ unfortunately did not get help for his problems (r.i.p.); at least Britney seems to be doing better.
