Remember when the boys of Sterling Cooper were working on the Maidenform account, and they pointed to each woman in the office and declared her a “Jackie Kennedy” or a “Marilyn Monroe”? You didn’t have to be Joan Holloway, head of the secretarial pool, to appreciate their conclusion: “Joan is a Marilyn. No! Marilyn is a Joan.”
Joan, like any bombshell who knows her stuff, lets her curves do the talkin’. Therefore, her office look is simple: a figure-hugging dress, a little red lipstick, and jewelry that draws attention to her assets. Click through our slideshow to get the jaw-dropping look that has all the men on “Mad Men” wrapped around Joan’s little finger.

QUESTION: If after every episode they directed you to a web site that lists where every item was bought, would you check it out? I think I would. Everyone on Earth should use mad men as their template.

I wouldn’t call them cones, so much as buoyant. I’m no expert, but nothing wrong with a good buoyant set.

The first time I ever saw Joan was an epiphany, on many levels. Most importantly, now I know where the term “stacked” came from. She is divine.

WooHOO for Mad Men! As a curvy girl myself it’s always been hard for me to find clothes… but now with mad men and Kim Kardashian in the spotlight, I’m actually finding things that look good! Hell yeah.
Maybe I should get a bullet bra…

I can never find red lipstick to suit me. Pale skin, freckles, red hair. I don’t think the perfect red lipstick exists for me.
I actually had a dream once where I did finally find it. In, of course, a non-existent brand. Poo.

M_A_C - From what I understand, most of the womens’ wardrobe on the show is real vintage that the costume department has tailored for each of the ladies. So, a lot of the stuff’s probably bought at flea markets and various vintage shops around LA.
tattooed_redhead - Have you tried MAC? I tried every red in creation before finally settling on their Russian Red. <3

My bad! According an interview in Glamour, they have a costume designer and she makes a lot of the stuff for the main characters. That’s what I get for not looking before I speak!

@carolee - there is no MAC anywhere near me but next time I’m in the city I’ll hunt it down. Thanks!

@tatooed_redhead- Oh you can buy MAC online and sometimes Macy’s carries it- their lipstick is divine- smells and tates subtly delicious- no icky waxy smell.
