How Much Sex Is Too Much For Beyonce To Give The World?

Yesterday, I was having a bit of a Beyonce moment. For about two hours I watched nearly every video she has on her YouTube channel. And while I enjoyed my trip down Beyonce Memory Lane, especially the dance sequence at the end of “Get Me Bodied,” I couldn’t help but wonder what her foreplay with Jay-Z must be like. You’re probably thinking: “How did we get from Beyonce’s videos to her having sex with her husband?” Hold on, there’s a connection.

Beyonce has gotten sexier and sexier in her videos and performances since going solo. This made sense in the early days, because she was trying to separate herself from the “good girl” persona of Destiny’s Child and had to show she wasn’t a teenager anymore (I’ll play along and pretend she really is 28 years old). And remember, she wouldn’t officially admit to being with Jay.

Now that she’s Sasha Fierce, sometimes the sex-factor dial gets turned up all the way, as Beyonce traipses around in leotards and shakes her booty like few can. She’s also a married woman. I’m not arguing that she has to act like a nun now that she’s married. Her career would probably be over if she did. But if she’s giving away so much of her body to her fans and oozing so much sex on a regular basis, what does she have left to give Jay-Z when they’re alone? It’s no secret that women are expected to entice their lovers, and there are few things a man can do in that department that wouldn’t be a little weird (i.e., stripping and wearing lingerie).

Maybe Beyonce tries out new dance routines before she and Jay get it on? Maybe he gets off on having “the hottest chick in the game” and doesn’t need any foreplay? Or maybe he simply watches one of her videos to get in the mood, and all she has to do is lie still?

Maybe I’m reading too much into this. I mean, it’s not like I’ll ever know the answer.

If no one ever points a camera in her general direction ever again, the world will be a better place.  Get.  Away.  From.  Me.  Beyonce.

I’d be more worried about the message she’s sending to the youth consumers.  They’re getting a very skewered view of sexuality, since 90% of women will never reach such standards.

This is one the main reasons I stopped watching/following pop culture television years ago.

I don’t bother with videos or images that were shot before 1976 or so. But i was under the impression that Beyonce was fairly mild compared to some of the others. Perhaps i should listen closer to the lyrics since everything i’ve read about her claims shes about female empowerment

@bogart: unfortunately in some circles, female empowerment is a euphemism for “slut it up, but in MY way.” Not saying this is Beyonce, but… yeah…

I think Beyonce in about 2002 was an amazing role model. Great, empowering songs, perfect, healthy body. This is before she was singing about being a sugar mama and smoking cigars in her videos. Basically, she was better as a member of Destiny’s Child.

Kelly, on the other hand, has only gotten better since going solo.

In her day-to-day life she doesnt seem to dress and act ridiculously sexy.  When you see pics of her and jay-z together she usually looks like just a normal girl

You know what? I’m sure the REAL BeyoncĂ© is really cool, and I’ve liked a few of her songs, but ‘Sasha Fierce’ needs to quit worrying about puttin’ a “Ring On it” and put a cork in it, instead!

Considering the amount of African women I’ve seen/met running into salons w/ a picture of BeyoncĂ© and request blond weaves and lightening cream just to look like her> I have no use for her oversexed “Sapphire”/Sasha Fierce character.

Perhaps off camera, she’s a great girl, but she seems very irresponsible with her stage persona. Not all of us sisters are out looking to ‘get bodied’ 24/7. Thanks to celebrities like her, there are still people who assume I’m out ‘shakin’ my jelly’ or pleasing my “boss” (lovely slang for boyfriend/husband) at some club instead of reading a f***in’ book.

omg, you hit it on the head with the wukkin’ up. although i could care less about their sex life i wondered while watching the VMA awards why b was gyrating in a leotard with her crotch exposed. DISTURBIA! i was embarrassed for her.  at 32 (she is so not 28), when does it stop? why is it necessary? and when does she start acting like beyonce the person and not the brand? it is disheartening to know she couldn’t clean up her act for her fans in malaysia.  ugh enough about…b! go mary j. blige who seems to have embodied her womanhood and sexiness granted she can’t dance a lick but in the end we love her cause she’s just Mary!!
