How Cute Are These Rain Booties?
What is it about rain gear that’s endlessly entertaining for girls? (Or maybe it’s just us?) It just makes us smile when we find great grown-up stuff that lets you feel like a kid again—like these friendly Vivienne Westwood rain booties. Everything from the girly color to that bendy bow makes us think that wearing these would transport you to an alternate universe where people skip to work and it rains gumdrops. (Of course, for $125, it would have to rain a lot no matter what fantasy you’re living in.) If you’re looking for something a bit more unisex, Ms. Westwood also makes a bow-less model that comes instead with three gold studs up the ankle. Either way, a pair is guaranteed to catch a smile or two from admirers. [Hervia.com]

Something about those looks really off to me, but I can’t put my finger on what it is

I agree. Even though I love rain boots -I own three pairs and counting-, these ones don’t call me. It could be the not-blue-not-lavender color, or maybe because they look more like boots in a tux than boots with a ribbon.

I’m not a fan…they seem very pointy-toed

I get what the other posters are saying about them seeming “off”, but I actually think that’s why I like them…....I like adding one sort-of “off” element to my outfits, makes it interesting and personalized. Maybe instead of paying my bills this month I’ll buy these…...kidding…kidding….unfortunately!

yuck those are ugly beyond excuse. plain tall, shiny, black rain boots always do the trick and actually look chic with jeans tucked in to them. they’re the maybelline great lash of rain wear - the cheapest and the best.
