This week, Newsweek takes a look at a group of young women known as the Nerd Girls. This Tufts University group, representative of smart, hot women everywhere, is made up of about a dozen female students. They like dressing up and being girly—one is a former cheerleader—but they also like math and building stuff, including a solar car they hope to race next year. The girls are really cute, and it’s wonderful that younger women understand that they can be feminine and smart at the same time, however, being a nerd is easy when you’re attractive, wear the right clothes, and carry around an iPhone. This story annoys me, mainly because the only reason why anyone is giving these ladies the time of day is because they nerdy AND hot. Not hot, smart, nerdy women never get this much attention.

Hot nerds have existed since Apple rolled out its first Mac. Just take a look around Valleywag.com and you’ll see plenty of gorgeous geeks (many of whom have their own $tartups).
