Hayden Panettiere And Other Celebs With Misspelled Tattoos
Hayden Panettiere has been showing off a new tattoo on her torso, but the tattoo, which reads “vivere senza rimipianti” (“to live without regrets”), is misspelled. Her “rimpianti” has an extra “i” in it. Now, we’re guessing Hayden has at least one regret. She isn’t the only celebrity who has a tattoo gone wrong. Thankfully, my Arabic tattoo says exactly what I wanted it to. More tattoo mishaps after the jump.

But they all actually fit the wearer ironically. Especially Britteny’s. She is strange. Well not as much as before now that she is on good medication.
As a tattoo’d goddess I have one simple rule.
never put anything on your body you can’t read.(This comes with personal experience.)

@PinkRanger Considering the source. I wouldn’t be surprised. You would think the artist who was doing the work would check to see if their correct. They’ll be known for the work on that celeb. Sometimes I wonder if they did it deliberately.

Maybe Hayden did it on purpose? Like “here’s a mistake to prove I’m serious”?

What’s with all this Sanskrit?

@becktasm: it’s the new kanji. It shows that you like ‘exotic’ things and also gives you an excuse to pretend your tattoo choice was spiritual and not tequila-induced. Plus it looks purdy.
and this is why, as a heavily tattooed person, I highly advise people not to get a tattoo in a language they can’t read! Hanzi Smatter is a very amusing blog on the subject.
(okay, okay, I admit it: I look like a leprechaun but have a kanji tattoo amidst my other scribbles. But in my defense, I am mixed-race and nearly all the Japanese or part-Japanese folks in my immediate family have the same tattoo and we are quite sure it means what we say it means, hehe.)

Mispelled tattoos, fliped tattoos, mirrored tattoos, meaningless tattoos… you name it. It is the risk you take when tattooing something that wasn’t prepared by a native speaker of the language who is ALSO a professional translator…
