Is Domino Magazine Designing A Comeback?

Domino Magazine

Though blogs and websites give us the immediate information we so desire, we still experience a mourning period when a magazine closes. It’s like losing a fabulous, glossy best friend. And when Domino shut down production, our homes seriously felt the lack of good interior design. Thankfully, a former editor, Michelle Adams, hasn’t let go of the dream just yet. Adams plans to launch Lonny, a brand-new home design book, only this time the pages will be an online-only option.

While the webzine (or, as Tyra calls it, “magaline”) will appear just like a regular magazine divided into sections—front of book, style, market, culture, fashion, and features—this time, instead of ripping out pages and going shopping, purchases are just a click away. We knew there was a reason why the internet would rule the publishing industry. Happily, parts of the old team have reunited, as former editor-in-chief Deborah Needleman has her very own feature in the premiere issue and designers Jonathan Adler and Celerie Kemble will appear in following issues. Stalk your browser beginning on October 1, when the first issue will hit, er, the internet newsstands. [WWD]
