Harry Potter And The Case Of The Raging Hormones
I can’t begin to count the numerous ways I am on the edge-of-my-seat excited for the new Harry Potter movie. The number one reason (besides the obvious fact that I am obsessed): “Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince” is going to be one massive snog fest!
I haven’t quite finished rereading the sixth book (I am almost done!), but who can forget all the snogging from the first time around? Harry and Ginny are constantly sneaking off into secret corners of the castle and edges of the Forbidden Forrest. Hermione almost murders Ron (for the millionth time) for his public lip locking with Lavender Brown. We learn that Hermione and the older superstar Quiditch player Viktor Krum snogged ages ago when she was just a wee lass of 14. The hormones are raging! My fave fictional friends are all grown up! It’s hard to accept that they are adults, and it’s no longer appropriate to show all of their nightly exploits for younger audiences to see. Still, I have to let them have their privacy and develop normal and healthy sexual relationships…as long as we get a few minutes of serious big screen smooching.

Wow, I remember reading the first book when I was like 12. Someone bought it for my sister and she didn’t want to read it.. so being the bookworm I was, I snatched it up! It’s a series I still enjoy rereading. :D

This whole series was read allowed to me and my sister. I remember choking back tears, and laughing, all as a family. Fortunately the snoggyness in the books was never very graphic, with more left the the imagination, so the family readings never got very uncomfortable.
I can’t wait!!!

I don’t want to burst a lot of bubbles, (MINOR SPOILER COMING UP), but the Harry/Ginny snogging is barely going to feature. From what I’ve heard, they get one, maybe two, kisses throughout the whole film.
Ron and Lavender, on the other hand, won’t let you down.

As I recall, Harry and Ginny don’t end up together until after the midway point. Before then it’s Ginny and her boyfriend-of-the-week who are off in seceret passages and various corners of Hogwarts. Whenever Harry and Ron run into them, Harry gets all jealous and Ron gets all big brother and tells her to stop.
And then Ginny gets all third wave/Spice Girls feminist and tells them to leave her to her business.

I remember being kind of upset when reading the books that this one was so focused on teen-drama. But now thinking about who plays these characters is quite a condolence. I’m not all that broken up about it anymore

As long as I get to see lots of Draco Malfoy, which I will, I can suffer through crappy/not enough making out.
