Happily Married Women Get Good Night’s Rest
According to a University of Pittsburgh study, Caucasian women who have higher levels of marital happiness also have lesser risk of having multiple sleep complaints (i.e., trouble falling asleep, fewer early morning awakenings, and more restful sleep) than unhappily married women. “Divorced individuals tend to have more sleep problems than those who are married; however, among the married, we know very little about how differences in marital quality may be linked with sleep,” said Dr. Troxel. “The present results show that happily married women have fewer sleep problems than unhappily married women.” No word on how single people sleep. LOVED the last line. HA!
Isn’t it kind of common sense that if the primary relationship in your life is going well, then chances are you’re slightly less stressed and able to sleep better? I’m just wondering if these scientists’ time could have been better spent!!

@Dating Lame. Isn’t that true for most “scientific” studies? Like, how about the millions spent a decade or so ago to figure out why people get hurt in the bathtub. The totally, uh, surprise result—FALLING. Thank goodness someone answered that big mystery!

I have been in great relationships where I could not sleep well. Why? Because I am a bed hog. I love to have the entire bed to myself.

True that. I like to spread out in bed (no pun) and my current Queen size bed does not cut it. I am trying to convince my husband to get a California King, but I don’t think he finds it very romantic.
