Goodbye, Domino

Today started off as a miserable day, and it’s getting worse. We just heard that Conde Nast closed Domino magazine and its website, DominoMag.com. Damn, economy! March 2009 will be the magazine’s final issue. Amelia and I are simply heartbroken. Domino was our porn. What are we going to lust over (besides Ryan Gosling) now?!?! Please join me in a moment of silence.

I know mags are tanking, but I didn’t think this would be the one to go…not that I read it, but I know lots of people who do.

Genuinely upset by this…that was my favorite magazine and I’ve been a subscriber since it’s inaugural issue. I love Rita’s travel pieces, I love the entertaining tips and goodNIGHT the spreads that were so easy to adapt in-home. So many tear-outs and such a day-maker when it arrived. Much as I love blogs, I’m not ready for magazines to go away…

I’m a subscriber! Goddamn it. I am glad that I hadn’t mailed in my renewal check yet though. I hate that publishers feel like they can just sub a crappy mag for the one you wanted. Like when Jane folded I got stuck with nearly a year of Glamour.

So sad! the site was my fave but i’ve been looking online for some new sites and i found some great ones!
http://www.apartmenttherapy.com is a great blog and has lots of great pics and ideas!
http://www.largom.com is more of an online magazine, It had loads of modern design and interior ideas and it’s free! Not sure if it’s also in print- does anyone know?
