Give It Up For Vermont! The Green Mountain State Legalizes Gay Marriage
First Iowa, now Vermont—it’s been a big week for gay marriage advocates! The Vermont House of Representatives voted with a two-thirds majority to overturn the Governor’s veto of the gay marriage bill—this makes Vermont the first state in the union where lawmakers passed a gay marriage law instead of the courts. Vermont is the fourth state where gay marriage is now legal, alongside Iowa, Massachusetts, and Connecticut. [Reuters]

@ PinkRanger: Definitely!
I am so happy to hear this. One day, I hope all 50 states will legalize gay marriage.

@Everyone: I literally lover Vermont. I have been there many times, and I hope to live there eventually. I have spent most of my time near Warren Vermont who has their wonderful 4th of July Parade, if you think you’ve ever seen liberalism in action, go to this parade, I guarantee you will see something new. A couple years ago there was a float with still president Bush on top of the White House drinking from a can marked “OIL” while getting pegged with water baloons (Graciously given out by the forerunners of the float), I must also remark tha behind this float was George Washington LITERALLY turning in his grave.

Yay!!! take that Governor Douglas :D. I was at the senate hearings at the statehouse a few weeks ago leading up to the vote, and I didn’t really think it would happen… I’m so glad it has though!
@CheeeeEEEEse: I’m glad you love Vermont! I’ve never been to the Warren parade, so it sounds like such a vermont town thing to do… I’ll have to check it out some year.
