Organized Gift Giving Is Better Gift Giving
It may only be Aug. 18, but it’s never too early to get crackin’ on your holiday shopping. While some of you may operate well under pressure, I need to start thinking about it now. Even if I don’t buy the presents right away, it makes me feel less desperate because at least I know what’s out there.
This year, I may go all-out and get super organized, making friends and family fill out this cute vital stats sheet designed by Made in England (and available to download for free). Yes, you might come across as a little anal, but calling your sister on Dec. 19 to ask for her shoe size kind of ruins the surprise. [Made In England]

Thats cute!
I like to shop early, but then my little sisters end up finding their gifts. I guess I don’t hide them very well or they just like to snoop around!
I have a humungus family, so it would be smart of me to shop pronto.

I used to shop early. Then I would forget I bought stuff. Buy more stuff-still forgetting the original gift was in my closet—and find the original gift the following July.
So I’ve given that up.
The above sheet is cute though. Maybe I’ll fill one out and give it to my husband so he can buy me something other than his usual norm.

That sheet does seem very anal. My mother shops and at one time shopped for the FOLLOWING Christmas. I told her she should NOT buy clothes that way. After all, people can have different sizes in a year, styles fade, tastes change, etc. She didn’t listen and when the people didn’t like them, she was upset. You can’t return something you boght over a YEAR ahead of time!
My advice are pre-paid gift cards OR pre-paid debit cards - most banks will do that. Or, straight cash homey!
I shop starting in November and all seems to work itself out.

my boyfriend keeps a list of my important sizes in his wallet. what i’m leery about is the whole dress/skirt size thing for women recipients, since every store’s sizes are horrendously different from one another. for guys a 16 1/2 32/33 shirt is always going to be just that. a size 8 dress at banana republic isn’t the same at jcrew
