Genes Might Influence Why Men Don’t Commit
Bad news for human females, as well as female voles (they’re rodents similar to mice): Swedish scientists have discovered that a man’s reluctance to commit might be in his genes. We’re not exactly sure how scientists figured out rodents don’t like to marry, but hey, whatever.
It’s called the “334 version of the AVPR1A gene” and it is more prevalent in men who didn’t want to pair up. The leader of the study said further research is required to find out how possible genetic mutations may affect women and the bonding hormone, oxytocin, which “seems to influence female pair-bonding more.” We guess this means if you’re chronically single, unforch, it might just be biology. This is SO TRUE. This is why I’d rather be with a serial monogamist than a lone wolf. The serial monogamist at least likes the feeling of being in love and needs the companionship. The lone wolf you can chase for months, he will never stay.

I believe that there was a study and that it produced results but I also believe this is just furthering a stereotype.

I can’t wait until there is an exclusive surgery in Switzerland to correct this genetic mutation because I think I suffer from this.

most likely its not a gene but what we’ve seen and experienced from very early on that shapes our feelings about commitment. In a lot of cases mainstream media are just as guilty as our parents or life-sucking ex-girlfriends are.

What? Men have a problem committing? That’s weird! O, and I know plenty of rodents that don’t want to get married! :O
