In the 60s, Halston gained noteriety for designing Jackie Kennedy’s famous pillbox hat. A few years later, he moved into the disco glam era, bringing draped, floor-length dresses that were all about sleek lines and little embellishment. Here, Angelica Houston models one of his designs, but his dresses went best with those Farah Fawcett types with feathered hair.

Betsey Johnson, although amazingly talented, she is very heavily influenced from Vivienne Westwood (a British designer). Johnson’s fashions and trends are not as original as the others mentioned above.

Also, you mentioned that Marc Jacobs knows how to show girliness without pink or lace, but the dress you pictured is pink..so that doesn’t exactly prove your point.
