Gallery: Queen Latifah And Other Celebs With A “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” Policy

Queen Latifah

Queen Latifah may have a loud voice, but the singer stays tight-lipped when asked about her sexuality. The Queen was recently seen partying at Country Club in New York City with some lovely ladies. And while every woman enjoys a night out with her girlfriends, Queen Latifah and her posse went to Country Club two weeks in a row on a Wednesday—which is lesbian night at the joint. Curious as to why the Queen prefers Wednesday-night partying, a reporter asked her about her preference, but the singer/actress kept hush-hush. [NY Post]

While some celebs are very open about their sexual preferences, others keep very quiet about it. Here are a few others with a “don’t ask, don’t tell” policy.

Not to be a wet blanket, but since when does not being seen with a guy for a few months make you a lesbian?

really? just because one doesn’t open up about their sexuality means they could be potentially gay?

seriously the speculation about Oprah is so stupid. She has a partner in Stedman and a best friend in Gayle. How is that weird? Everyone should be so lucky!

I really don’t care how Latifah swings since i’m not with her anyway. We don’t have a right to inquire about these people’s sexual preferences.

This is so childish!  The public lives of entertainers have been so violated that we seem to think it’s our right to know all the inner workings of their lives.  But it’s not our business.

I figured Tyra was single to focus on her career. By the way, wasn’t she engaged to Chris Webber?

But yea, this article is kind of prodding into personal territory.

I figured Tyra was single cause she is secretly a cannibal. She eats the faces of former contestants of America’s Next Top Model as to obtain their beauty.

Also, she seems like a very self-centered person. Who wants to date a cannibal that only thinks of their self?

In a way, I kind of think it’s a shame for celebrities to not discuss their sexuality (one way or another) because it makes it seem as if being gay or lesbian is still something that is abnormal or not okay. But on the other hand, I can see why celebrities want their privacy to be respected, especially in terms of personal and private relationships and matters. But I think for them to discuss their sexuality, rather than actual relationships, would be better for everyone so society can see that it is okay and that it’s better not to live a closeted life.

I say who cares if they’re bi/lesbian/straight or gay. What happens in their personal lives should stay there. Why should the media delve in to all of their life? At least give them some privacy.

@ Coral
I agree, it would be nice if there were more openly gay celebs. But at the same time, if they don’t want to share they shouldn’t have to, and sensationalizing it doesn’t help either.
