Frisky Hate Mail: Promoting Adultery, Superficiality, And Whore-like Behavior
We get a lot of mail from readers, some insanely flattering, some helpful (thanks for doing a little free copy-editing for us, guys!), and plenty of nasty hate mail. With that in mind, we’re going to post some of the best reader mail we get from time to time, because we totally appreciate that you even take the time to write!

You promote adultery, superficiality, and whore-like behavior for women, but you criticize the same behavior in men. On top of it all, after encouraging women to act like shallow, selfish whores, you have articles decrying the lack of ‘good men’ and ‘Peter Pan Syndrome.’ What happened to all the good men? You did.”
Thanks, we try! Reverse sexism is so the crux of our mission statement.

I love that last part - us women happened to “all the good men.” By being whores? Awesome. Happy to help.

You know, I do sense something of a double standard when it comes to accepting behavior in women that you criticize in men. It’s a guy viewpoint, but I believe it’s valid.

@Aquifer Example please?

Oh come on Amelia. Your recent resolution post is a perfect example. If a guy posted that he wasn’t going to go down on his g/f more than a couple of times a month because his buddies said he was giving it too much ... what kind of response do you think that would get?
Amelia

@EB You are seriously making too much out of my resolution. Honestly. And my “buddies” never told me I was giving it too much. I was doing it more than *I* wanted to and it just so happens that how much I was doing it was way more than other women in committed relationships. For the last time, I was trying to illustrate how often. Period. It’s not like I’m giving in to peer pressure.

LOL!!! seriously do u get this kind of mail??? They should rather be mailing the TV-networks about the offensive-sexist cartoons they are creating. Besides, I think men have had enough fun already this past centuries
it was about time for us to have some fun

Believe me, this site is reasonable when i comes to topics about anything a woman wants to know. If you want to see the other side, go look at sites like askmen.com who say that PMS is no excuse to be rude….excuse me?? and their comments on said page are riddled with men saying that “PMS wasn’t invented until the 1970’s”
...i rest my case

So you think PMS *is* an excuse to be rude?
BeeGirl
wrote on December 29 2008 @ 05:51 pm: [report]
Eh. I don’t really buy the whole PMS thing. Maybe I’m biased because, for the most part, I don’t really experience the infamous mood swings that PMS is supposedly responsible for. I mean, trust me, I’m all for cutting women a little more slack during that time, but let’s not go overboard.

Lol no worries, I was just relating that there are sites that don’t have a fair look at these kind of topics, using that as an example. I mean, PMS really hits me hard, and I never mean to be snippy, but i’ve warned my boyfriend of this and he always understands. but for a site to imply that that’s not an excuse is just unfair

I agree, particularly because it’s a men’s site. They obviously haven’t consulted anyone who’s actually experienced the curse!

I think that if people don’t like what this AMAZING site has to offer, then obviously, they shouldn’t read it. As with everything, take what you read with a grain of salt. Amelia, you’ve got the best posts! PS…who’s business if all of us women want to go out and “whore” around as long as we’re being as safe as sexually possible? Ok, lastly, even if The Frisky said to go out and screw 100 guys before midnight, it does not mean that anyone is going to do it. We’re women with our own strong, intelligent minds, you know!
Betcha didn’t know that!!!<—(to the hate mail writiers)

I used to be a complete bitch to my ex and end up crying and then I’d get my period the next day, and think, “oh that’s why I was such an emotional wreck yesterday!”
That would be an interesting piece for the Firsky to cover—what actually happens during PMS.

@missinformation
the same happens to me! lol glad i’m not the only one around the site with the emotional wreck. I agree with you that it would be an interesting topic for thefrisky to cover! especially if the author has suffered it, it’s easy for a guy to say its crap, it’s also easy for a girl to say it if she has never experienced it. Its like saying that cramps don’t hurt that much just because you dont get them as hard as the girl next to you!

I find it interesting that now that you’ve matured it suddenly occurs to you that others may find your sexual history repugnant. Why? Perhaps this is just another example of how there is something to be learned from observing others who are living the kind of life we emulate. It is strictly immaturity to say, I don’t want to, have to “conform”. If you rebel indiscriminately, you may pay with social ostracism or at least a fewer doors opened to you. Don’t worry though, all is not lost. Just start acting like the person you want to be and attract. Stop talking about things you want to fade away. In other words you can reinvent yourself just don’t go to far and attempt to fade into the woodwork - it is easy enough to get lost in the roles you are aspiring to e.g. wife? mother? Be careful.
