Recent photos of Mariah Carey and Nick Cannon in Cannes have loads of people chattering—about her weight. (Yeah, yeah, a new topic of conversation!) Here’s my beef: Why don’t we all just leave Mariah alone? She’s married, smiling all the time, on vacation in the south of France and totally freaking happy. So, she gained a few. Big deal. It happens when you’re in love and don’t want to schlep yourself out of a warm bed at 5:30 a.m. and hit the gym (even if your gym is right downstairs and your trainer lives with you). We always seem to jump on celebrities the second they gain some extra poundage, here’s a novel thought—let’s actually be happy that they’re happy, right?

i don’t really get why people need to be so negative, these women are still stunning, chubby or not. Fat is such an ugly word. I may have gained weight myself but I’m more confident now than I ever have been, even though I am a big girl.

If these girls are fat, I’m morbidly obese.

All the ladies look totally hot in these pics. I think Jessica looks better a little bit more curvy, actually.

yeah. america seriously needs to lighten up on the weight issue, no pun intented. i just can’t imagine being in the spotlight and being completely ripped apart for gaining a couple of pounds. its ridiculous.

its over exxageration so that the problem will be addressed by all in some fashion. hollywood is supposed to represent the physical example of our best. the models, the actresses, actors, etc.. are supposed to be a symbol of what we think. if they’re allowe to get fat and look like whatever, then its ok for us all to do so. such things as dieing at 59 from pesky “unavoidable” obescity issues will become the norm and “skinny people” will be the new “big” problem. ie, trying to find chairs small enough for those people to fit in comfortably and clothing that doens’t make them look like they’re all rapped in comforters…

I don’t believe that mariah looks fat in this picture. Most of the time its just a bad angle for the celebs. not everyone can look good in every photo I know i don’t.
