Fashion Nightmare: Croc Winter Boots
I am a staunch defender of Uggs—during frigid winter temperatures, when I have to run my dog out at midnight for a walk, nothing is better than those squishy, fur-lined boots. And I even saw them in a cool grey color this weekend! But, my mind, there is no greater fashion mistake than a pair of Crocs…well, until now. Behold, Croc winter boots! I’d sooner walk barefoot over molten lava. [SportsAuthority.com]

In my opinion, I love Crocs… I totally know they are ugly but they really are very comfortable. I’ve been caught at a couple of weddings wearing them near the end of the night because my feet are killing me from my other shoes (but I wear a colour that’s close to matching my outfit!!) I must admit that I would not wear these types of Crocs, to me they are a summer comfy shoe. To each their own I guess…

I saw a picture of those on another site and got sick to my stomach - ugh. That will be the super popular style, though. While I’m not crocs fan to begin with, I’d rather see them in all their annoying glory during summer.

ya know, I think they’re just as hideous as Uggs. If the bottom section is water-resistant, I might even consider them an improvement, although nothing amuses me more (in a “boy I’m glad that’s not me”) than watching college-age women squish around in soaking wet Uggs during an East Coast weather event. Except maybe the ones who wear them with miniskirts when it’s 30 degrees outside. ;p

I really hate Uggs, and wish they would disappear. (Unless of course you actually need them - I hate them as a fashion accessory) However, I’d rather wear Uggs than these ridiculous Crocs.

So here’s the thing. I am pretty shallow. I will totally abuse my feet if the shoe is cute enough—I have been known to wear shoes a full size too small for me. But Uggs ARE like walking on CLOUDS. The fact that I am willing to wear Uggs in public, I think makes up for my shallowness in other areas.

I want a pair of these, not in pink of course. I love Uggs and I love Crocs. What a splendid idea of putting the two together. I’m the type of person who has to always be wearing shoes and love the convenience of these two shoes. If it’s cold I’ll go with the Uggs otherwise it’s the Crocs. My husband said he saw these for the first time this past weekend and was going to get me a pair but didn’t know what color to get. Oh how dare he.

Why submit yourself so Uggs or Crocks this winter when there are soooooooooooo many other choices. Get ahead of the game - I found these Galway Boots made by Dubarry of Ireland http://www.dubarry.us and they changed my life!
They are a proper outdoor boot but look really elegant and are really comfy. Goretex lined to the top and special treated leathers that don’t spoil. I have had mine for 2 winters (coming to my third) and can’t fault them.
