So Clay is out.  I was a huge fan of Clay.  I always thought he was effeminate but not gay.  All the fans that say it doesn’t matter are deceiving themselves and just covering up for their lechery and lust that made it so fun to be a fan.  Not they have to make a change to why they loved a talented guy that had some real sex appeal.  I’ve read the boards… girls talking about getting him in bed and all the things they’d like to do to him and visa versa…etc… Now they’re eating crow.  I personally am offended by his deceit and the fact that he says he is a born again Christian.  Can’t happen.  Can’t live an ongoing sin day in and day out knowing it’s wrong and never repent.  Truly knowing Christ is making the change to live in God’s will and His word. Repentance is the key word here.  Clay’s got a beautiful talent. I wish him well and our group here will always pray for him.

duckie—being a Christian is about loving Jesus, having the faith in Him that he died for us so that we could live on after leaving this life.  It is also about repentance of our sins.  Yes we all sin.  But knowing that and repenting of that sin is what it’s all about.  And Jesus can give us the strength we need to do it.  To say you’re a Christian and living each day with a sin you won’t repent from is not knowing God.  If you truly know Jesus you want to be more like Him and please Him.  Therefore, acknowledge sin and make change.  Believe it or not I am not a religious person—but I do love our Lord and am so thankful for all he does for me.  Just read the New Testament—it will fill you with knowledge and God will speak to you and your life will change.  Love God.  Peace to all.

Here’s a question for everyone…do you feel as strongly about those who commit ANY sin? Do you know anyone in your chuch who claims to be a “born again christian” who lies (we all lie multiple times everyday…even clergy!), who bears false witness, who envys, who commits adultry, who doesn’t honor their father & mother? I would think that unless you also hate these people…and yourself (b/c even you sin everyday…over & over) then you should really stop & think about the fact that you’ve chosen one sin & decided that it’s the “ultimate” sin & are continuing to encourage judgement & hate for your fellow man.

Homosexuality, for one isn’t even addressed in the 10 commandments, so once everyone has mastered the 1st 10 steps, then we can focus on the other stuff!  Until then, how about creating a little more acceptance & peace in this world…especially at church & any other religious environment & support each other & leave each person to worry about his/her soul & redemtion?  Ultimately, it is up to each individual to struggle daily with their own relationship with or without God…it’s no one else’s place to judge or be concerned with.  God may have created Adam & Eve, but even though they were created in His image, they were unable to resist temptation & there was only one serpent…look at all the temptation today! Until you are able to say you are not a sinner, you have no place judging others…pray for yourself & others to be closer to God, but NOT for others to stop sinning!  Anyone can be a christian…they simply must ask God into their hearts…doesn’t say ANYTHING about never sinning!!

Oh please, the next time you read Leviticus 18:22, please flip back a few pages to Leviticus 9:10 to 12, where it states, THREE TIMES IN A ROW, that eating shellfish is also an abomination. Do you repent every time you have a crabcake or a shrimp cocktail? I am a Christian, and I believe in the Bible, but you can’t take it at face value, I mean please, it is thousands of years old and has been subject to numerous handdowns and translations. The only way to figure out the true word of God is if you go through it intelligently and take each part IN ITS ORIGINAL CONTEXT, taking into account different translations and what they would have meant at the time they were written.
Oh and PS, Sodom and Gomorrah’s sin was not simply homosexuality….the men said they wanted to “get to know” the angels…which is ambiguous. And even if you can take it in a sexual way, we would be talking about gang rape, not just homosexuality. Plus the fact that Lot offered his virgin daughters to the men….there’s a whole mess of things going on that you don’t seem to know about.

It just amazes me that someone could be a fan of Clay’s and then suddenly hate him because of this.

He’s still the same person, he still has a great voice, he’s still a wonderful entertainer.  How has that changed?

That’s like one of my friends not telling me something about themselves and after revealing it I now instantly hate them.

I peronally think the bible is very ambigious.  It was written by men.  There were very limited numbers of scholors back then and who knows if they got the interpretation right in the first place, not to mention the many translations and interpretations since.  It stuns me how 10 people can read a passage from the bible and get 10 different meanings.  Maybe this is how it was supposed to be, so people can have comfort and the answers they seek in the bible and everyone can interpret it to their lives and problems.

I don’t think most of the bible is supposed to be taken LITERLLY.  The problems they faced when it was written are far different than we face now. 

If god didn’t want the world to face the issue of homosexuality, he should make sure that babies aren’t born with whatever gene/pre-disposition/hormone that makes them gay in the first place.

How dare people stand up on their soap box and judge others that way.  It’s not their right.

And no, we aren’t judging people like Ember for judging others, we’re telling them to stop!

You would think that it was the end of the world now
that Clay has admitted to being gay.  Isn’t Clay the
same guy you screemed at and bought his music etc?
You all quote from the Bible.  You forgot one quote
that Jesus said, “He who is without sin cast the first
stone”.  You all need to look at yourself first and
see what you are hiding.  It had to be very difficult
for Clay to come forward and admit he was gay.  Clay
probably will lose some fans, BUT, IF YOU ARE A TRUE
FAN, you will stand behind him.  Clay is now a father
and wants to raise his son right so give Clay the
respect that he deserves.  I myself am a 66 year old
grandmother, who loved Clay from the start, belong
to the fan club and will continue to support Clay.
Clay hasn’t change except for the better and we have
no right to judge, only God.

This chapter of the Bible also is against it too. Romans Chapter 1 verse 27. It says In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed in the lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for ther perversion. I am not judging I am just saying what the Bible said and if you are a Christian and really living as one and following it then I think you would do what it says.

Ember,  I’m with you, girl!  Don’t pay any attention to the lies that people choose to believe and live their lives with.
The Bible is the only truth.  Jesus loves all mankind, but, all mankind is not saved UNLESS they choose to make Jesus Savior AND LORD of their lives.  Period.  No discussion.  No arguments.  God said it and that makes it so.  If you don’t LIKE IT, take it up with HIM!!!!

Clay is in need of repentance and deliverance.  Homosexuality is not “normal”, “something you’re born with” or healthy.  It is a perversion of what God created for men and women to enjoy, married and together.
Like it or lump it people.  Truth is still truth be it 2008 or any other time.

Wow, since all the right wing conservative christians seem to follow a piece of literature like the bible so closely, I am now going to follow literature too!  I am officially a wizard like Harry Potter!  That is my new dogma, magic exists.  Oh wait, I guess that is pretty close to the bible.  Grow out of the ignorance people and let everyone live their life as they see fit.  Clay Aiken being gay isn’t hurting anyone.  he’s finally living his life honestly.  I suggest you all do that.  If you are going to follow that one part of the bible so closely, I suggest you do the same with all the parts.  No more hair cuts, swearing, eating meat on certain days, and I really hope you all go to church every day and pray for your sins.  Stop being ignorant and join reality with the rest of us.
