Die-Hard “Twilight” Fans Go On A Tour In Forks, Washington

Twilight

Forks, Washington, where the “Twilight” trilogy takes place, sounds like the most boring town in the world. The weather sucks and it’s way the eff up in the middle of nowhere. I’m not surprised only 3,000 people live there. But delusional die-hard “Twilight” fans don’t see it that way. Last weekend, $300 “Twilight” Forks tours were offered, flooding the town with squealing tweens. Twilighters gathered in the drab town to go to Forks High School, where they were given fake diplomas. There was also a “prom,” where bands like the Bella Cullen Project and Bella Rocks played. A tour of Forks was offered as well. OK, I’m starting to get a little freaked-out. These people do realize that “Twilight” isn’t real right, RIGHT? Yeah, and before you say the movie was filmed there, well, it wasn’t. Most of the flick was shot in Oregon.  [People]

I’m sorry, but Twilight and this whole phenomenon is RIDICULOUS, and when I say that, I mean ridiculously stupid. I can kinda get it when your a pre-teen because everyone pre-teen girl has some dumb obsession (mine was Leo), but when your say, 19+, really? I wish it would just go away.

I have been to Forks (I grew up in Washington and was dragged there once) and it is indeed a boring place.
All I remember from that visit was boredom and a really gruesome seagull sighting.

The people who paid for this tour are out of their mind. However, I think the people who came up with it are brilliant.

Sadly it’s not just the pre-teens being affected by this… I can’t think of a fitting insult for the Twilight phenomenon. I was kind of in before the storm, so to speak, my mom is a librarian and brought the first book home for me. I read it, and it was okay. It wasn’t exceptionally well written or anything, but it kept my interest. Then all of it suddenly blew up and I’m like, “It wasn’t THAT good, cripes!” Anyway, I’m so sick of hearing about Twilight. XD
