Dating On The Cheap: Head To Ikea
You probably won’t find Michelle and Barry O. making eyes over a plate of Swedish meatballs in the cafe any time soon (though you never do know!), but The New York Times is claiming more and more of us are heading to the Scandinavian superstore for a few romantic moments alone. Ahh, love amongst the Lack storage solutions! And parents are taking full advantage of the child care centers called “Smaland,” dumping the little rugrats off for up to an hour and a half of supervised playtime in the ball pit, and heading to the couch section to read the paper together in silence. (Actually, Ikea estimates that “Smaland” attendance has jumped roughly 20 percent so far this year in its stores in major American cities.)
I bet it makes for a tab that you’ll both be fighting to pay. Don’t worry, sweetums, it’s my treat this time! [NY Times]

I fully endorse this article. The food in their restaurant is actually pretty good, cheap too. You could have some fun in their accessories section too.

I love Ikea! I would happily spend hours wandering through all the “rooms”, trying out the couches and beds. I sometimes pretend I live there.

Ikea is among my favorite places in the world! The food is delicious and it’s fun to explore each of the little apartments they have set up in the showroom. I’ve been trying to get my boyfriend to go there with me for quite some time.

I love Ikea, the food is so cheap and so is everything else. I think everything in my house is Ikea and Urban outfitters sale rack. lol.
I used to go to Costco with my ex a lot. You know, the $1.50 hot dog and soda deal.

My best friend and I go on dates to Ikea all the time. And lately my boyfriend has been teaching me to drive in the Ikea parking lot…which usually results in 15 minutes of driving and then me saying “Can we get frozen yogurt yet???”
