Amazing. I’m in art school and I’m always running through colored pencils. I once bought a colored pencil set with 250 different shades. Ah, color!!

That’s about $1.32 per pencil, which isn’t bad at all if they are quality pencils. But I’m not sure about that. I like Prismacolor. And I pay about $3-$5 per Prismacolor marker (it has two markers, a fine and a broad edge). Art supplies do not come cheap!

Yeah, Prismacolors and Copic are expensive. But they don’t have to be, depending on where and when you buy. I’m an art hobbyist, and though I draw mostly with graphite and Photoshop, I occasionally break out my Prismacolor pencils. I have two sets of 12 (all different colors) that I bought for around $9 each - my local art supply store regularly had sales on Prismacolor products. I’ve also seen some awesome deals for both markers and pencils on eBay, if you’re okay with buying in bulk.
I know some really amazing artists who work with markers, so I always wanted to try my hand at it, but considering a box of twelve Prismacolors costs around $40 or so, I think I’ll stick to digital (plus, it doesn’t really matter if I screw up).

Oh my goodness, I am completely, ladyballs-deep in love with my Prismacolor colored pencils… Speaking of which, there are some summer art assignments that I really should be working on… thanks for reminding me, Frisky!
The one pitfall I’ve run into with nice (& expensive) colored pencils is a cheap pencil-sharpener. The all-metal type is the only thing that works for my little babies :3

Yes a bit pricey, but at least you can put it on lay away for 20 months without interest!

I’m just a little concerned they are manufactured in China..
