Conservative Vs. Liberal Men: Who’s The Better Date?

Democrat Vs. Republican

Right Wing News, a conservative political blog, interviewed six women who’ve dated both liberals and conservative men and asked them about their differences. The overall majority seemed to think liberal men were whiny and arrogant. One woman said, “Liberals were always happy to suggest we split the check; it must be some Clintonian socialist entitlement. They also tend to own clothing displaying their irrational fear of Dick Cheney, and/or love for Che Guevara. They are the shaggy haired, greasy hipster types you find loitering in the Apple Store.” I laughed out loud at this because I totally know what kind of dude she’s talking about and his name is My Brother. Anyway, this series of interviews amused me and got me thinking about the real differences between conservative guys and liberal guys, if you try and take away your own personal bias and disagreements on “the issues”.

A guy I dated in college was what I would consider an odd conservative, because he considered himself an environmentalist, but voted for Bush (no offense to Bush Lovers out there, but I think we can all agree global warming isn’t on his list of priorities). Anyway, this dude was a perfect gentleman, until he tried to pull the switcheroo in the bedroom. Sayonara sucker! A couple other guys I dated who weren’t as liberal as I am tried the same thing—is this a conservative go to move? On the flip side, the majority of liberal dudes I have dated were clearly not interested in committing, but that might have been because in New York City, liberal guys get a lot of action. I’m joking, really, about most of this because I think the notion that conservatives and liberals “date” differently is ridiculous. One of the women interviewed on the site agrees with me, saying, “I think that the danger with the liberals and conservatives is that if they are living in an area where they’re dominant, they can be quite set and unimaginative about their political ideas….But, it’s the personality of the guy. I’ve dated generous, bleeding heart libertarians and conservatives and sexist, annoying liberals. It’s really the person, not the ideology.” That said, if you can’t make it to the bedroom because you’re too busy fighting over the state of illegal immigration, it might not be worth it. What do you all think? [RightWingNews.com]

Omg! Switcheroo! Hilarious name for it. I had NO idea this move was so common. I just sent out a Tweet for additional confirmation.

And yes, unfortunately the excruciating news is confirmed a million times over, (thank you Jesus for the foresight for an unlimited texting plan.)Switcheroo is the No. 1 cause of break ups between cool women and dirtbags.

A pox on people who make a big deal of identifying themselves as liberal, conservative or whatever.  I see selfish, arrogant #&@$% on both extremes. Back away slowly, then turn and run in the other direction.

If you ask most guys a few years out of college, they’ll usually all give you the same answer. If a woman has to choose between two similarly handsome guys with different ideologies, she’ll choose the guy with more money.

Does anyone have a hard questions around here?
