Mommy blogs are up in arms over Nickelodeon’s decision to create a “tween” version of kiddie show, “Dora The Explorer.” The new, Bratz-ified Dora trades her cute, practical bob and baby fat for long, flippy locks, trendy leggings, and a skirt—a decidedly less rough-and-tumble look for a kid who gets her kicks going on adventurers and playing sports.
In honor of Dora’s coming of age, and as a cautionary measure, we’ve assembled before and after pics of other youngsters who got a sexy makeover at the hands of puberty and a few crafty marketing executives…

Miley and Vanessa are just getting older. The 12,13,14 age is awkward for more girls and it’s nice to break out of it regardless of whether or not you’re in the spotlight.

To be honest, that first picture of Britney seriously creeps me out. I’d rather someone look like an adult than do the whole Lolita thing. I don’t need to feel like I’m on “To Catch a Predator” every time I see you in a magazine.

Hardly child star beats Drew Barrymore. She went through her crash phase in record time and then made a comeback.
Though I really think Tatum O’Neal ‘wins’ the ‘trainwreck due to childstardom/life in Hollywood’ thing.

I volunteer at the local kindy and that’s the age group that love Dora. I don’t think the kids will mind what Dora looks like as long as she has her monkey friend and back pack. Haha

Why??? Bugs Bunny never had to grow up, Charlie Brown is a perpetual confused tween, The Family Circus are always the same—-she’s a cartoon character, she doesn’t have to age!!!!

Alyssa Milano should’ve been on this list as well.

I’ll take Dora with her baby chub belly and ruffly socks thanks. The bob is so in right now!

Just more reasons I’m grateful for Amanda Bynes’ goofy-yet-annoying good-role model self.
