Charlize Theron Slated To Star In “Mad Max: Fury Road”
Actress Charlize Theron has been selected to star in “Mad Max: Fury Road,” the fourth installment in the “Mad Max” movie series. Theron, who has a thing for playing out-there women (see: “Monster”), won’t be appearing opposite “Mad Max” star Mel Gibson though; he’ll be sitting out this trip into the apocalyptic future. Instead, Max will be played by actor Tom Hardy, who starred in Guy Ritchie‘s “RocknRolla.” Shooting will start next summer in Australia. [The Hollywood Reporter]

Argh, I wonder how bad they are going to muck up the Mad Max franchise with this. Granted, it isn’t the most popular; but tossing in a multi-million special-effects budget doesn’t make a film great.
I’ll end up going to see it though, griping aside.
