Celebrity Commitment Symbols: Not Your Average Diamonds

Who needs gold, platinum and silver, when you can have blood, tats and locks? Today’s celebs are anything but traditional when it comes to expressing their love and “commitment” to each other. Rings are just too boooring for these celebs.
Most recently, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson have been spotted around town sporting matching red infinity lock bracelets by Jules Smith to show off their alleged lesbian love. They also apparently wear matching anchor necklaces as a sign of “stability,” oh and Sam recently gave Lindsay a $22,000 Cartier ring. They are really selling this “we’re together forever thing.” My bet’s another week. Anyway, here are some other famous couples that have chosen unique ways of staking claim on their partners, after the jump…
- Who can forget Angelina Jolie and Billy Bob Thorton’s matching blood vials? People are still talking about it today, even though she has had a whole new set of commitment rings (commitment, not wedding, people) with Brad Pitt!
- Ashton and Demi often wear the same Hermes necklace, and they both, when in the mood for sharing their faith in Kaballah, wear matching red bracelets symboling the religion.
- Ashlee and Pete Wentz had promise rings long before those crazy kids
were forceddecided to make it legal after her belly started to grow from something other than McDonalds. - Rihanna and Chris Brown, who have been dating for the last year, have matching star tattoos on their neck. Smart choice because when, I mean if, they break up, they won’t have to cover up each other’s names like Denise Richards, Johnny Depp, and Angelina before them.
- Though Beyoncé and Jay-Z tried to keep their nuptials a secret for way too long, that didn’t stop the most powerful couple in hip-hop from getting their wedding fingers tattooed (both have IV, the date of their alleged wedding) rather than swapping wedding bands.

Months ago, I gave my boyfriend a silver anchor charm on a chain and have a smaller, matching one crafted by the same artist… I did some reseach, and anchors symbolize hope, love, stability, a strong foundation or a boyfriend, girlfriend, or significant other in someone’s life.
Now I’m peeved people are going to think I got the idea from La Lohan…

truth is she has been hurt by men and if Sam is able to provide some emotional stability for her then why not let her, and keep our comments out of it. It seems to me a much better choice than reading in the paper that she did something to herself from being miserable wich is where she was heading less u all forgot! truth is man and women , women and women , men and men LOVE IS LOVE and it shouldnt matter whom u are with as long as u urself are happy. If anyone of u had, had bad experiences wouldnt you want support instead of grief and wouldnt u want not to be ridiculed and critisised i think so , we are in the 20th century for pete sake and we have come so far and yet are still so behind because people cannot bring themselves out of the past to get to the future.. good rule of thumb Be open minded do not judge or critisize what u dont understand seek the knowledge to obtain understanding. and never , never critisize we all have done things that werent so very right but seemed right at the time . After reading some of the comments posted i must say i was a little disappointed…having been hurt by my father’s abandonment as a child is not the reason i’m in a committed relationship with another woman, i truly believe its the beauty of a woman not only physically but emotionally that attracts us. I wish lindsay and sam all the best and commend them on their courage of not letting society have any influence on the love they share…i wish it were that easy for my girlfriend. My father recently passed this last year…he’s gone but my love for another woman will always be here.
