Free Sarah Palin! CNN’s Campbell Brown Grows A Pair On Behalf Of The Media

CNN’s Campbell Brown totally tore the McCain camp a new you-know-what for banning reporters from questioning Sarah Palin while she was in New York yesterday meeting with world leaders at the United Nations. Don’t have the patience to watch the vid? Transcript after the jump…

“Tonight I call on the McCain campaign to stop treating Sarah Palin like she is a delicate flower that will wilt at any moment. This woman is from Alaska for crying out loud. She is strong. She is tough. She is confident. And you claim she is ready to be one heart beat away form the presidency. If that is the case, then end this chauvinistic treatment of her now. Allow her to show her stuff. Allow her to face down those pesky reporters… Let her have a real news conference with real questions. By treating Sarah Palin different from the other candidates in this race, you are not showing her the respect she deserves. Free Sarah Palin. Free her from the chauvinistic chain you are binding her with. Sexism in this campaign must come to an end. Sarah Palin has just as much a right to be a real candidate in this race as the men do. So let her act like one.”

Dang Campbell, we didn’t know you had it in you! Suffice it to say, sexism has been hard at work during this campaign and Sarah Palin certainly has faced some of it—but isn’t it true that some of that sexism has come from her own campaign, as Brown suggests? [Huffington Post]

They’re treating her like a spokesmodel—she’s allowed to read speeches written by McCain’s staff from the Teleprompter, but that’s about it.  It’s like they’re asking us to elect Vanna White as Vice President.

And while we’re on the subject of Governor Palin…  What kind of person is crazy enough to use a Yahoo account to conduct official government business?

And now we want to make her Vice President and give her top security clearance and access to all our nation’s secrets?

Doesn’t seem like such a good idea: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wPi17bX_4Ec

You go girl. I’m so fed up with this stuff too. Take this rant and run it around the world! What she’s really saying is that if Sarah Palin wants to play in the big leagues - she’s eventually going to have to step up to bat and show us who she really is. Time for this charade to end.  The Republicans have been pulling the wool over the eyes of the American people for 8 years and it’s up to the American people to demand that this is where it ends.

Wow Kiki, I never thought of that.

I thought pitbulls were supposed to be ferocious. I guess it really does depend on the handler(s). Maybe Palin will finally talk about something she has done that has made a real difference, tell us her policy plans or account for her less than stellar record now. Or maybe explain to us how she is supposed to help run a country, but can’t even manage her own family.

Wow, I just developed a huge girl crush on Campbell Brown.

Especially interesting now that McCain is trying to push back his debate with Obama to the date of the first VP debate, and reschedule the VP debate for some vague future date.

The McCain campaign isn’t letting her interview because they are AFRAID of what she’ll say. She has become a huge liability to McCain over the past few weeks. Have you seen her Charlie Gibson or Katie Couric interviews? She doesn’t even know what the Bush Doctrine is, and she cites Russia’s planes flying over Alaska first when entering the US as her strongest foreign policy experience. Come on!

You’ll see during the VP debate this coming Thursday… She’s an idiot. It’s like she’s filing in the blanks of a Mad Libs when she speaks… “John’s a hero, a maverick, I’m a maverick, gotta take them down, we’re gonna win this, maverick, maverick, lipstick.”

Poor John, looks like the Palin political stunt didn’t really work out for ya. Bummer!
