Britney Spears Doesn’t Know What’s Appropriate At A Photo Shoot
Last year, Britney Spears totally embarrassed herself by acting erratic at an OK! Magazine photo shoot. She wiped her grease covered hands on a several thousand dollar dress. Her dog crapped on the floor, and Brit Brit used another dress to clean it up. Not to mention she once showed the world her period panties. Although Britney has cleaned up her act, she still doesn’t know what’s appropriate at a photo shoot. A spy for the New York Post, says the pop tart’s recent Elle shoot was a total disaster because she forgot about her period. Yes, Britney apparently ruined beautiful couture clothes with her menstrual blood. [NYPost.com]
I don’t know how this could happen to any adult woman. You don’t just forget about your period. There are several tell-tale signs, besides a bloody stain—sore breasts, cramping, irritable mood, or the fact that it comes every month, unless you’re pregnant or have some biological issue.

I beg to differ. When I was younger my periods were rather irregular and would, on occasion, come without any of those tell tale signs. I’m inclined to give any woman the benefit of the doubt when it comes to menstruation.

Is that a wax figure of Britney? And are we really surprised by anything unsanitary that she does? We are talking about the girl that frequents gas station bathrooms while barefoot. I doubt changing her tampon (or possibly even using one) is on her priority list.

I’m with tabby. There are medical conditions that make periods erratic - I don’t doubt anyone who says their period snuck up on them.

This is funny because I just forgot about my period yesterday. I forgot to put in a new tampon after showering and realized it when I was halfway to class. Luckily I was wearing black pants, but unfortunately white undies… oops.

All those tell-tale signs practically disappear when you’re on the pill. Or at least, they have for me. And I still never know exactly which day I’m going to start on the week I know I’ll have my period. It could be any of two or even three days. If it’s that regular for you, that’s great, but don’t speak as though everyone has that luxury.

I wish by body was as predictable as yours. I have definately had suprise period moments. Times when you are sitting down in class or at work and then stand up and “oops” it sucks and so I wouldnt be so quick to judge Brit or any woman for have embarassing period moments.

Oh man, I agree with all you ladies. Periods sometimes can come as a real shocker, especially if you’re on birth control. Mine sometimes drags on for 12 or 13 days, with spotting at the beginning and the end, as well as spotting throughout the month. And if I don’t have a tampon in my purse, god help me. We’ve all been down the “makeshift pad out of toilet paper” road, and it’s not a fun one.
Long story short: I feel for this girl. And besides, anything read in the tabloids should probably be taken with a grain of salt anyway.

I’ve never had regular periods. Mine come without warning at all, so I always have to have a small collection of tampons in my purse, because I never know when it will show up. Birth control makes me seriously ill, so I can’t regulate my cycle at all. I sympathize with Britney.

Wow. Easy ladies. Let’s all go check our panties to make sure we didnt just start our periods. Yikes.
I’m with Annika. But maybe I’m just one of the “lucky” ones who has gotten my period regularly, without fail, every month, since I was 12. Well, with the exception of those 9 months I was pregnant.

Gosh, how lucky for you indeed jojo32.
I’m with the others. I have never, ever had “regular” periods. My period can happen twice in the same 30 days, or not happen for three months (without sex going on). There is never a determinate stretch of days inbetween them. I also typically do not have any PM “signs” of any kind (but hell to pay during if it’s been a few months).
Annika, don’t rib into Brit about how ridiculous it might be to “forget” your period, and then make one little mention at the end that it MIGHT just be biological. It comes off like you’re just trying to cover your ass for these exact comments, even when you don’t believe in “biological” reasons yourself.
