Breform Means You Never Have To Wear A Bra Again?

Perhaps you’ve heard of the boob lift, a surgical procedure that hoists up your sagging breasts. Now there’s the internal bra, which also does this, but goes one step further by putting a reinforcing structure in place, so that you don’t actually have to wear a bra. Ever. The product used is called Breform—a firm mesh cup that’s implanted under a layer of breast skin, effectively providing a support to lift and hold them. While this kind of sounds like a miracle procedure, some of the details are not so pleasant. A plastic surgeon who performs the technique explains, “Over time, the mesh gets incorporated into the breast as the body produces a fibrous tissue that holds the structure in place—like a permanent bra under the skin.”
The procedure is relatively new, but so far, none of the 600 women to participate have had any complications. What do you think? Something you’d be interested in after some more time and research has passed? [NY Daily News]

I can't even imagine how much that has to hurt to have to put in. Wouldn't they have to cut off basically all of your skin on your breasts to put it on?

surgery is drastic but if i was going to get anything done i'd consider this
I cant even imagine how much that has to hurt to have to put in. Wouldnt they have to cut off basically all of your skin on your breasts to put it on?
it wouldn't hurt more then a regular boob job its mesh so its probably flexible they probably slide it in like a regular implant

I'd love to hear more about it. I don't think I'd sign myself up for the procedure (Barely Bs- they aren't going anywhere) but the concept is exceptional.

I wonder what the after product feels like, does the breast feel natural? Do they become oddly shaped after a while? Can you imagine what they would like at 60+ years? As a woman with a 34DDD bra size I think this would probably be a great investment. I can't stop thinking about how much money I would save over the years. Bras in my size start at $50+ and have to be replaced about every 6 months and you can't really own just one,not to mention strapless bras are downright impossible to find.

If I had the money I'd consider it. But then again, my boobs are DDDs so I don't think it would work very well for me.

I vow from this day forward to love my soon to be saggy boobies and every other part of my body. I am going to stop comparing myself to the women in the media and stop my self doubt. I am okay just the way I am. And so are you.

My first thought was the pain factor, but T3rror makes an excellent point. I would consider it (DD after all) but I would need more info. I would love to not have to wear a bra... after all, us big-breasted gals don't have a lot (any?) of cute options. But, how would this work with a sports bra? I wonder it is would be that "smashable."

@ExGirlfriendWith DDDs, you probably could use extra support in addition to your bra. These could be good for chicks with boobs so big they need more than just a bra.

Interesting concept, but the idea of mesh inside my boobs makes me kind of queasy.

I don't think I'm qualified to comment as my boobs are practically non-existant... but it still sounds a little creepy to me. :)

It seems like they'd feel gross to the touch. And anyway they do nothing for nipple coverage, so what's the point?

@camelo27 If I'm going to be spending that kind of money on something like this, I'd want it to be able to really hold them up to the point where I wouldn't need a bra. With the right bra my ladies look fantastic.

My boobs look fantastic in a bra, but they are seriously saggy without. If I could afford this and it's proven that there are no serious side effects, I would give serious thought to it. Just to be able to wear a bathing suit without an underwire would be a dream!

I like a little protection on chilly days...I would be completely embarrassed to be pointing the nips every time I was a little cold. I'll stick with a bra!

I wonder if it makes it harder to detect breast cancer.

A regular implant goes under the fat/breast tissue or even under the pectoralis muscle. This looks like it goes under the skin and would be a lot more painful since there many, many nerves under the skin and not so many where the implant goes.

I'm sure it would make it very difficult to detect breast cancer as it sounds like it creates a layer of stiff/tough scar tissue right under your skin. It's harder to feel through that.
