Win A Bon Jovi Autographed Poster!
Ladies, tonight Bon Jovi is going to rock your world. At 9 p.m., Showtime will be airing the documentary “When We Were Beautiful.” And girl, as much as I’m embarrassed to admit I have a girl boner for a guy with highlights, Jon looks as good as this movie! You know I’ll be waving a lighter in the air while I’m sitting on my couch watching it. Now, if you too want a piece of that sweet sounding Jersey boy action, your friends here at The Frisky are going to help you take him home. Well, via a limited-edition autographed poster of both Jon and guitar-slaying Richie Sambora, that is. If you want it bad, you don’t have to throw your bra on stage; just write a comment on this post about your mad love for the band. If it goes down in a blaze of glory, you will be our lucky winner! Bring it. We’ll pick the winner next Friday, so you have until the end of the day on Thursday, Oct. 29.

Bon Jovi was my first concert… when I was 5 years old!!! I still remember seeing Jon running around on the part of the stage that was over my head (like in the Lay Your Hands on Me video) and I’ve been a fan ever since. One of the best experiences has been being able to bring my parents back to a show almost 20 years later to share it with them all over again. Love, love LOVE them! No matter what your mood or what kind of a day you’ve had, they have a song for it. Or if you’re really in a bad mood, the visual of Jon in leather pants can work wonders

I fell in love with Jon listening to “Always” in 1994, I was 11 years old.
I saw them live for the first time in Buenos Aires in 1995, I was 12.
The next time I ever saw them live again was in 2002, for my 19th birthday. I had just moved to the US, and from then I went cazy.
I saw them in Sacramento, CA and San Jose, CA (several times)in Las Vegas, New York and New Jersey (best show ever) until I moved to France in 2007.
I can’t wait for a European tour! I’ll follow them everywhere!

The first album I ever owned was “Slippery When Wet” - my dad bought it for me when I was 2!! I have loved those boys ever since. Something about Jon Bon Jovi just DOES it for me!

I was 12 years old, living in Australia and my first cassette tape, yes, CASSETTE TAPE, was “Slippery When Wet.” Played it on my pink ghetto blaster until it wore out! Followed the band ever since but didn’t ever have the funds to see a concert until I relocated to the U.S. - last July, at MSG, last show of the Lost Highway tour, this 25 year worshipper at the “Church of Jovi” had finally made it to a LIVE concert!
I had finally come full “Circle…”

haha, I still have the worn out cassette tapes, too, I can’t bring myself to get rid of them even though I “upgraded” to CDs many years ago.

I mean I love (Jon) Bon Jovi as much as the next girl but the truth is the only reason I am posting on this and hoping, praying for a chance to win this is for my husband!! My hubby has to be one of the biggest Bon Jovi fan ever!! He will override my ipod and add all his Bon Jovi music, we have every cd they ever made. He had to have the Kenneth Cole cologne just because Jon Bon Jovi was on the ad. I know I could win wife of the year award if I gave him an autographed poster . . . truth is I don’t want the award I just want him to think of the awesome gift I gave him everytime I buy an expensive pair of shoes, so he just cant be mad at me ; )

I am a “reborn” Joviac! I fell in love with them in the 80’s after hearing “Runaway” on WAPP. I knew all of their songs, had their posters all over my room. My friend and I even camped out side Ticketron windows to get tickets for their MSG concert in August 1987. I still have the first 4 albums on vinyl!!! I even still have my “white gold” Tshirt!!! I lost track of the boys in the 90’s and early 2000’s…I guess I was too busy being a wife and a mother. And then on fine summer day in 2007, my then 13 years old daughter called me to her room to listen to a great new song she found on iTunes. Imagine my surprise when “Living on the Prayer” came blasting from her computer speakers!!! I had to go to my basement and find my SWW album to prove to her that the song was 20 years old. Next day I went to local BestBuys and brought my Jovi collection up to date (and replaced my 4 LPs with CDs). 2 years and 4 concerts later, I am eagerly awaiting the release of the Circle and start of the tour. It’s amazing how well their music still fits into my life! When I was a rebelling teen in the 80’s, the heavy metal was perfect for my mood swings! Now I trully listen to the songs and have found inspiration in many of them. And I’m NOT talking about the obvious anthems like Prayer and Its My Life. Some of the lesser know jems like “Welcome to Wherever You Are”, “Seat Next To You”, “Ugly” have helped me get through some rough patches in my life. I also came to appriciate the other aspects of the band. Like their involvement with charity work on behalf of Habitat for Humanity, Stand Up for a Cure, and Save the Music, just to name a few. Tico’s art is fascinating, and I am hopelessly addicted to his RSB jewelry (but lets allow this to remain my Dirty Little Secret!) Richie’s solo work is fantastic! I love his throaty vocals and blues influenced music, especially “The Answer”. And last, but not in anyway least, is David. I use his instrumental album to aid in relaxation ( for myself and my patients). And his musicals are deffinately in the “Must See” category! I was fortunate to be able to see both of them on their first night of previews and lucky enough to meet both authors in person twice! And let me tell you that in person, David is as down to earth, funny and charming as he appears to be on the screen and stage!
I saw the documentary last night, and the 1st thing
I did after turning my TV off (well, after catching my breath)was go to Amazon and pre order my copy of the companion book and the special edition of the “Circle”.
And did I mention the friends I made in the last 2 years?!?!? Talk about the Sisterhood of the Brotherhood! I have met many wonderful women from all over the world on the Jovi forums! Many of them remain my virtual friends, some became my phone buddies, and a few of them became dear friends after we met in person at concerts and other occasions!
So I say: Let the tour begin, so we can gather again and shout Hallelujah at the men in the spotlights on that stage….AKA the altar in the “Church of Rock and Roll”!!!!

What can I say, I have loved you all since 1983! You were my first concert…CNE and Government
Actually Bon Jovi, you were my first love…I always remind my husband of that. Ahha. Seriously, keep rocking and one day my dying wish is to meet you. You had me at ‘10’ and still do! He. Keep making amazing music and I will keep following you, front row center left side, that is. Waiting until we meet. Who would of thought that I would classify for ‘The Make A Wish Foundation’?! Yup, I was struck with illness in 2002 and now my seemingly only wish is to meet you! I will wait. Love ya, keep being you! Hugs: Rosalia XOXOXO

My best friend is desperately in love with Jon Bon Jovi. I’ve heard way too many stories to count about how much she loves Jon. She’s convinced her and Jon had “a moment” when he came into the audience at a concert a few years ago. She is the ultimate Bon Jovi fan, and I think she would absolutely d-i-e if I gave this to her.

I am not going to detail my love afair with Bon Jovi since there clearly isnt room. I will simply sum it up, I am 37 years old and I grew up on Long Island, I loved hair metal. Jon Bon Jovi (pronouced Bone-Jovi by a math teacher when I drew their logo on the blackboard) was the object of my dreams. I finally got the opportunity to go see them in concert , as one of my friends’ father had an in at Nassau Colliseum. The day of the show I was so excited we were getting a limo and we had backstage passes, I thought I was going to die of excitement. My mom drove me to my friends house so we could wait for the limo. When I got there the limo had already arrived and I got in, then the girl that had the tickets accused me of hitting on her boyfriend, it was untrue, I didnt even know the guy. She swore someone saw us together and that I was a ho and she wasn’t wasting her ticket on me and she kicked me out of the limo. I walked home in tears. I never did get to see them in concert and I found out later that she wanted an older friend to come who could buy them alcohol so she decided who ever got there last was getting the boot. I walked 2 miles back to my house in tears. Pathetic yes, but sadly true

Sometimes when I was younger I wanted to Runaway. Always moody, at the age where my relationship with my mom was tumultuous. I always thought, She Don’t Know Me. So I turned to young love; always In and Out of Love. One day he would say, “You were Born to Be My Baby” and the next day, I was Shot Through the Heart. I moved on. He promised to Never Say Goodbye, but in our last fight I told him, “You Give Love a Bad Name.” These days I’m just Livin’ on a Prayer, Without Love, but I know that this Social Disease will end. It’s My Life and I’ll live it Wild in the Streets. Always Let it Rock. I’ve had my share of Bad Medicine, but I know one day I’ll find my Bed of Roses. One day he’ll say to me, I’ll Be There for You. I’ve got to Keep the Faith. In the meantime, I’ll Have a Nice Day with my rock, Bon Jovi.

Even though I’m a fan of Bon Jovi, I’m not entering for myself. I’m entering for my mother, who is a much, much bigger fan of Bon Jovi than I ever could imagine being. She knows all of his songs by heart and still loves the songs even after hundreds of listens. I’m surprised her Lost Highway CD hasn’t been warped by all the excessive use. She has no idea that I’m entering this contest so I would like nothing more than to surprise her with this autographed poster. She has done a lot for me over the years—this is the least I could do for her.

My best friend Miss Dorothy “Dory” “Ivy” “Ivonia” “Doster” many more.. loves Bon Jovi. I am ashamed to admit my only interest in them was when they were attempting to sell me batteries. Dorothy recently lost her mother in September of this year to breast cancer. I loved her mother very much but I know my pain is nothing when I look upon my friend. When Pam passed she left behind her son Joey, Dory, and Joel her husband. Please Please Please give me this poster so I can give it to Dorothy. She is someone I know will genuinely love and cherish it. I love her so much please help me make her happy. thank you.
PLEASE GIVE IT TO MY BEST FRIEND FOR LIFE MISS DOROTHY IVANA!
She really is a amazing person she loves to sing, act, and make others laugh. I love her so much for her confidence she is convinced she is going to be a actress and when I asked her if she had any back up plans as a career she said millionaire director or boxer.

I bought a bon jovi ticket for Wembley at 15, paid for my train (all with my saved pocket money) and went down to London to see them in 1995. And it was worth the hiding I got when I got back. I still love them so much I get really excited and do ‘little jumps & yelps’ - my husbands description not mine whenever I see their album, a poster, a story in the paper, or anything Bon Jovi related. My husband disowns me when this happens. It’s almost a reflex as it happens before I know it and I just go ‘Whoo-Hoo and do a little jump in the middle of morrisons, hemv or anywhere I see them. I have brought my children up on their music and have had my phone cut off in the past because I had to renew my Bon Jovi membership. I also ‘promised’ my husband I wouldn’t go to the gig in 2006 at Hampden as I was less that a week from giving birth. I woke up in cold sweats all week until I finally bought my tickets (seats to comprimise), and went off to the concert. I was panicking and just couldn’t miss Jon, Richie and the boys. My boy is also called Jacob after Jon’s son, something my husband was unaware of until after he’d been named. Bon Jovi are just a massive part of my life and I really would do anything to get this prize.

Blame it on the love of Rock’n‘ Roll
Bon Jovi taught me to Keep the faith when I needed Something to believe in. Thanks to them I know that “It’s my life” and even when it’s hard sometimes you just gotta hold on to what you’ve got and do it the way Tommy and Gina did. You should not ponder about the times when you were beautiful but rather realize that you are not old, Just older. In these difficult economic times, where there isn’t much work for the working man but the world seems like a dry county, all we need is A little bit of Soul and a Band like Bon Jovi that reminds us that We weren’t born to follow and encourages us to get up off our knees.

I have loved Bon Jovi for 15 years! I even have a Bon Jovi room in my house just for their memorabilia!!! The poster would fit right in with the rest of the things!
When my dad was dying, I would drive the 200 miles both ways to see him every weekend for a couple of months listening to non other than Bon Jovi. When I would leave his bedside on Sunday night in tears, not knowing if this would be my last time seeing him alive, I would play one of their CD’s on the way home and start to feel better because I would start singing to the songs and would be in my own Jovi world. Sad to say, when my dad did pass away, I was distressed. At times I would put on some of their music and remember my dad in happier times.
Bon Jovi has been a great part of my life, in both good and bad times!

I love Bon Jovi since the age of 14. They are not only the best Rock Band but also - and especially that - the best Live Band there is.
