Ben & Jerry’s Launches “Hubby Hubby” Ice Cream In Support Of Marriage Equality

Ben & Jerry’s is showing their support for marriage equality by changing their iconic ice cream flavor “Chubby Hubby” to “Hubby Hubby” as of today. Sept. 1 is the first day gay couples can marry in the state of Vermont, where Ben & Jerry’s is based. The brand is celebrating the occasion by partnering with Freedom to Marry “to raise awareness about why marriage equality matters and encourage nationwide support for the freedom to marry.” Cool huh? This is why I love and support B&J’s. Its the only ice cream I allow myself to eat. Not only is it delicious, quality ice cream, but they are a socially responsible company. I sound like a f**kin commercial.

I love this. It makes me happy that high profile companies like Ben and Jerry’s put themselves out there an support gay rights, even with the possible backlash from “conservative” people. I’m going to get myself a pint of this and celebrate by sharing it with my hubby.

I think it’s a great idea! But I actually don’t even like the taste of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. It’s too artificial and overdone for me.

Thanks Coral. Good to know… They make good ice cream but up here in Canada, it is far too expensive. After reading this article tonight, my friend and I got a craving and had to check it out.
