Beckham’s Beard Garners Boos—How Scruffy Do You Like Your Man?
Seriously, what is it with guys and their annual beard-growing fascination? (Maybe it’s for Movember?) Doesn’t it seem like they do it just to prove they can, rather than to change their look? David Beckham is now sporting a beard which he started growing during a camping trip with his kids and he then “got carried away,” he tells the Guardian. The British newspaper, however, hates Beckham’s beard, not just a little bit, but quite a lot.
“This is a disastrous beard. Foolishly large, unkempt, mottled, aging… it swamps Becks’s delicately boned prettiness in a peltish mass of ugh ... [it’s] like an unstoppable hairy fungus, that especially bothers me. It’s colonizing him. That beard looks like it leads a sinister life of its own, after dark.”
Maybe that’s the problem: It’s one thing to be dating a man who is already bearded when you meet him, but it’s another when your clean-shaven boyfriend decides to grow a carpet on his face. We wonder what Victoria thinks. What do you prefer on a guy: full-on beards, clean-shaven cheeks, or a bit of scruff? And how would you react to your boyfriend going drastically in one direction or the other? [Guardian.co.uk]

I LOVE PRETTY SCRUFFY BOYS! It’s a a problem, offically.
When I first saw my teen idol, Simon LeBon in a five o’clock shadow I almost lost my prepubescent sh*t! I think that is the hottest thing ever, that guy that looks like he’s been hibernating!!!! ...but only if he is pretty…otherwise, the grizzly adam dudes need not apply…

I prefer my boyfriend to have a beard. I met him when he just had scruff, but I enjoy his beard way more. He has shown me pictures of him with no beard, and I am not nearly as attracted to him as I am now. I have always liked scruffy/bearded men.

I prefer my bf bearded as well. Beards are usually fine with me in general as long as they grow in evenly. The pic above doesn’t look like it’s growing in evenly, so yeah, that’s a little weird and doesn’t look that good. And why should you care what a guy does with his facial hair? Would you put up with hissy fits from a guy based on your choice of hairstyle? please.

I love, love, love beards. Oh I love them. BF was always clean-shaven but last winter he grew out the scruff the week before a skiing trip, then just decided to run with it. Everyone we saw during that time made a joke about me “putting up with it” but the truth is I was the one who encouraged it, begged for it to stay, and bought him mustache wax when his needed a bit of guidance to keep from curling over his lip. Almost every man looks better with a beard. On the few occasions my brothers and cousins have taken a razor to their beards, I have been totally horrified and they have all inevitably grown it right back out because they can see how much better they look, too.
Beckham just needs to visit a barber for a little tidying up on his neck and he’ll be fine. But I’ll admit his is growing in a weird pattern.

Is it really that hard to figure out why so many guys grow beards in fall and winter? It’s WARMER.

When I first met my bf he didn’t have a beard, but he asked if I would mind him growing one and I love it actually.

I like beards groomed and even. David Beckham will always be hot, but not feeling his wild scruff…
If a guy has sexy lips, a slight mustache (Beckham, again) makes it even SEXIER.

Y’all are some awesome dames. It’s nice to find women, besides my wife, who appreciate a good beard. I haven’t shaved since my wedding day (I keep it trimmed, though, no ZZ Top look for me…the wife’s beard-positive attitude only stretches so far). I wear a beard because I think it looks good on me and I hate to shave every day.
As for Beckham up there, well…if he shaved his neck up to his jawline, completely past that big thin patch, he’d have a fine beard, pretty similar to mine, actually. It is kind of unfortunate that he has such big empty patches between his moustache/chin and cheeks, though. I have those, though mine are smaller and more subtle. You’d think such a super-rich metrosexual like him would get some styling done, but whatever.
In summation, beards rock.

i like scruffy, full beards, grizzly adams type dudes. my roommate makes fun of me because she likes clean shaven guys, and i like mountain men who look like they live in the woods and could build me a cabin with their bare hands.

I gnerally like a bit of scruff, but my boyfriend has a full beard and I couldn’t imagine him without it. He looks about ten years younger without it in pictures, and I’m sorry, but I don’t date men who look like they still sing soprano.

I was actually in England last week and caught a soccer match on TV. I actually commented that David Beckham let something disgusting grow on his face. I’m a fan of facial hair, but for the love of god, no neck beard…PLEASE!

My boy keeps trimming his. :( I like him super scruffy, but he tends to be kind of a tailored-suit type, so wild facial hair is out of the ordinary for him. He did let it grow for a few weeks over the summer, though, which I loved.
It’s cute, too, because the hair on his head is so dark, but his beard comes in almost auburn!

drool, David Beckham will always be hot - the hairy neck/adam’s apple is kinda gross though
